Excellent service, very quaint, a great place to go if you’re interested in conversation as it’s not overly loud. Food came out relatively quick, the house was maybe 35-40% full. High school aged hostess’s and waiter/waitresses, mine was very respectful and well put together. I chose the chicken, yes at a steak house, it was decent but you can tell it’s not a fresh cut and hand battered and fried which is why you don’t see 5 stars. I wasn’t terribly disappointed, because I wasn’t sure what to expect. This came with two sides, I opted for their chicken soup and fries. The fries and soup were over par, soup was way better than I expected. Their house BBQ sauce is a nice touch, I enjoyed it too. Service I’d rate 5 star- tipped accordingly- these folks need every dime you can spare. It’s nice to see folks who want to work and seem to enjoy their job. Atmosphere - I’d rate 4.5 - I like a quiet little place, but just a smidge if background music like piano music in the background to cut the silence would be nice. The food 4 stars - nothing overly fancy, and I must say the price reflected that. You can hardly find a sit down meal for under $15 anymore… well her it is! Overall, I’ll...

Our server, Ashley, was great. Kind, empathetic and friendly, she made the trip worth while.

That being said, I had the soup and salad bar and it was nothing to talk about. The soups had dry crusts on the tops from the lack of use or stirring and some of the different salad mixes they had (potato salad, noodle salads, etc) were, I dont know, just not good. Visually appealing and not bad mind you, just flavorless and blah. Even worse, the young lady maintaing the salad bar, who had a CONSTANT scowl while there would stand RIGHT NEXT YOU, well within your personal space, and as you made a salad plate and moved to the next additive she rush up and clean the area you were just at as if a baby has just ruined it. This very disconcerting and almost made you feel uncomfortable. She had no problem, with her demeanor, letting you know, without words, it was your fault she had to clean the area since you didn't put the spoon for the dressings back in the...

Ordered myself the house burger and it was horrible. When I complained about it they gave me another one and it was just as bad(buns were pancakes, no sauce, 1 tiny tomato, patty falling apart etc) I ordered my daughter the hotdog kids meal and the bun was a rock and the hotdog wasn't cooked. It also was the same way when they brought out a different plate of the same order when i complained. The manager also chased me around the snack bar and continued to question with an attitude of why it was bad. She ended up only taking off my order off the receipt and not my daughters too even though it was just as bad. My girlfriend ordered the steak tender tips and she got sick when she got home. The staff was rude and i had to go to the front of the restaurant to find a different waitress to pay my bill. I never had a bad experience at a hoss's restaurant except for johnstown...

Well, the ceiling looks disgusting. Wonder if there is mold on the other side. The food was cold, cold baked potato, barely warm chopped steak, cold vegetables. Stopped eating and ask for a new one. Got a new hot baked potato and the rest was just the old steak and vegetables warmed up in a microwave, I guess. Very disappointed! With the food, well if the chef has a bad day it happens and some chefs don't care. However the ceiling is pointing to more substantial issues.
