It was mid-morning Saturday and there was a large crowd so the wait to be seated was expected. The poor service however was unacceptable. It started with the waitress taking our drink order. My wife and I both asked for a glass of water and cup of coffee. The waitress returned with one glass of water and one cup of coffee and said "sorry I screwed up and only brought one". When she returned with the second cup she then took our order. 20 minutes went by and people around us who arrived later than us started getting their food. Our waitress then came to the table and said "sorry I screwed up and forgot to put in your order". These are words that you should never expect to hear not once but twice from a server at a restaurant. No I am a very fair and understanding person. I always tip 20- 25% at restaurants. At this point the service we received deserved the minimum of 10%. At the end of our meal the waitress asked if we wanted dessert or anything else. We said no thank you just a to-go box for my wife's leftovers. 5 minutes went by and still no box. Finally after the third request she brought us one. By this time the restaurant was considerably less crowded yet I still had to wait for somebody to come to the register so I could pay my bill. The host asked how everything was and I said "the food was good so let's just leave it at that". the host apologized and then proceeded to bombard me with a plethora of excuses. I told him not to make excuses, that's the worst thing you can do in the service industry. I'm curious, why would you ask how things were if you're not going to ask what the problems were so you could correct them and address them? And where was management handling damage control? In fairness to those who were competent at their job, the food was very good. This is the only reason I give a second star rating. Being parents of 4 boys, Saturday morning breakfasts are a luxury for my wife and I. The next time we will be...
Read moreWorst meal I've ever had at Perkins. I used to go there with my mom all the time because it was her favorite place to eat. I don't know what happened to the food quality, but it was inedible.
Joe likes his steak well done. The first steak pic was his first order. I sent it back, and then the second one came out, but it was not much better. They also gave him no steak knife, and I didn't even realize it until he was already cutting up the second steak.
I ordered a lemonade to drink and I took the first sip to realize it was watered down and you could barely taste lemon at all.
I ordered a bowl of chicken noodle soup. Clearly, I got a cup instead because the guy across from us had a huge bowl compared to what I got. It didn't matter in the end anyway because it also was watered down and tasteless.
I also ordered the meat loaf dinner with sides of fries and mashed potatoes with gravy. The gravy was so spicy that I couldn't even eat it, which was OK then because the potatoes were like eating school paste.
The meat loaf was totally raw and totally disgusting. We left the entire meal sitting there because I sure wasn't even feeding that crap to my dogs.
They gave us a 7 dollar discount....I shouldn't have even paid...
Read moreOn January 8,2025, my wife and I had a date night and being that we just moved to the state we have been trying all the local restaurants in the Johnstown or surrounding area. We decided on PERKINS because we heard a lot of good things about it. Upon arriving we stood in the foyer area waiting to be seated. That's the ONLY thing we did! We waited and watched the staff gabbing awERKIay with customers while we stood there. Enough was enough and we turned and walked out. I have been fortunate in my life to have a platform where I can share such with a broader audience. I don't know who does the hiring for PERKINS but they must have been looking for cheap labor for the 2 women I did see? I know they weren't hired for their looks or weight This is what happens when you hire cheap labor. I hope someone here disputes my claims for I videoed the whole time I stood there. I now have a new agenda and believe me, I will let everyone know what I endured along...
