Placed an order online through the first option I was given with google results. Selected my items, chose the pickup option, and made payment. Upon arriving at the location my partner was surprised to find that not only had they not started making the order but instead seemed they may refuse service for the order that was placed - due to a relatively normal promotional offer we selected (doing the math it was a $3 difference from full price on the entire order) that they claimed they were no longer running. There was no issue selecting this promo and did I mention it was only a $3 difference on a $25 order? She was made to wait while the associate called the online ordering service - still unsure of whether or not our order would actually be made. It is not your customers fault if you haven’t updated your ordering systems - and it’s extremely bad business to be this petty over $3. We used to order here all the time - with minimal issues - because honestly - the pizza is great. We are no longer in the delivery area so we occasionally drive to pick up for the occasional treat. I am sure I’ve spent several hundred dollars at this establishment over the years - but if this is the way they treat customers over 3 bucks - I’ll gladly take my...
Read moreGuy dropped it off and said “sorry for the delay” even though it was 5 mins late on a Thursday. That kinda threw me off and I knew it’d be a disaster. I’d call up but my 6 dollar credit on one item isn’t worth stopping others wasting the money here. Cheesy bread was good... especially after dabbing it with paper towels to get the puddle of grease that settled where the marinara cup was that leaked all over the pizza and heating it myself (clearly it was made in a frier and just thrown in a box). Then I got to my entree gdeluxe philly with ham turkey steak cheese and veggies on it). Their website (that is probably run by Lycos) was made around the time of html and MySpace, let you click “no” to things! Perfect! Except it just triggered 1 thing and no I have mayo to add to the cheese that I can only call melted “Mozzawatery” plus a bunch of other stuff I didn’t want. The minced peppers and onions (larger than the steak) was mixed in perfectly with HALF A BOTTOM BUN soaked to the brim, with everything falling out. A masterpiece only McDonald’s would be sorta proud of but still shake their head at.
You know the saying, you get what you pay for! (Except you get a pile of inedible wet bread and...
Read moreAsante’s was my favorite place in Richmond to get a cheesesteak for over 10 years. Moved away 4 years ago and ordered one tonight and it barely had anything on it. I’d have to order triple meat and triple cheese and triple toppings to get the same amount from years ago with the portions they put on the sub. I literally would order Asante’s weekly for over 10 years so I know how they used to make them. This isn’t first time I’ve ordered them since moving 4 years ago, it’s just the first time I’ve felt compelled to write a review as the subs here the last few years when I come back to visit are so disappointing. I waited until it was clear they’re not the same, figuring everyone could have a bad night restaurant quality wise. They must have just given up like so many have after COVID. What a shame. Asante’s, please get it together and return to your glory days. Seriously, it’s hard for me to imagine the employee or employees you have there actually making a sub and putting nearly anything on it at all quantity wise and being ok with that nearly invisible finished product. Hire someone who cares or if it’s the ownership who doesn’t then I hope noone orders from...
