Waited about a month to try this, hoping that the location would work out all the kinks and all the hype would die down. It most certainly left much to be desired, the staff is very nice and asks if you need any extra napkins or ketchup. They are patient because they know it's a fairly new store and a lot of locals are not familiar with the menu or franchise. I ordered the combo #1 Freddy original double, and had to wait a little bit for it to be prepared, because it is a "made to order" restaurant.
The food, the fries are well seasoned with the seasoned salt they use, however they are very small and most are overcooked. The burger was ok, the sweet onions, pickles and the savory steak blended well together. But the burgers were very thin and were a little too crisp around the edges. The drink of choice since I am from the deep south was sweet tea, and I was actually shocked, it tasted very much like bottled sweet tea and lacked the freshly brewed flavor.
Overall, my experience was ok, the price was a bit steep for my liking and the food could use some work with cooking times. Please keep in mind that this is fresh, made to order food, so yes you will be waiting for you food to get cooked...
Read more2 stars because the food wasnt terrible. However, It took the cashier longer then expected to take our order and we was the only ones in the dining room, she seemed to be helping the drive thru too. Not sure why considering there was plenty of other employees working. One was changing the trash when we walked in and the bag had slipped down so he gets it changed and just leaves what he dropped on the floor there!! Before we got our food we looked for a booth and every single table was dirty. I had to get a wet napkin and wipe one off myself. There was a bucket of water with a rag sitting on a different dirty table but considering what I saw, I assumed it was dirty water anyways. The rim of the toilet was also nasty. The dining room floor needed a good mop and child seats needed put back up. The food was decent but we had a knat that wouldn't stop trying to get a bite too. There is no paper cover for the trays your food is served on, seems unsanitary to me. Overall it was a terrible experience and we won't be going back. If what a customer can see is that bad, I can't imagine how bad what we...
Read moreI read the reviews about slow service before I headed over. That doesn’t bother me because it is a new store so it takes time for operations to smooth out. We received our food and it was delicious and fresh; However, two things bothered me: 1) the store was exceptionally dirty. Tables weren’t clean, the floor was dirty. The bathrooms were disgusting and didn’t even have a soap dispenser (in the men’s), which is concerning since employee should be washing their hands after using the bathroom. 2) there was an employee working the fry line between 7:30-8 PM who constantly removed his gloves to eat food while he worked. Eating food while preparing others food shouldn’t be permitted.
The quality of your food is superior to Steak and Shake and Culver’s, but I will pass on tasty food to eat in a clean restaurant with employees who follow basic sanitary guidelines.
I hope these are things you plan to change in the future because you have a great opportunity in Richmond. We drove 45 minutes just to visit...
