Let me start by saying if i could give a zero star rating, I would. Yesterday night I ordered a general tso chicken combo with plain lo mein like I always do from this location. However yesterday, I guess they were in a silly goofy mood because when I got home, I started eating my food and the third bite i took had a little crunchy texture to it . If 1+1=2 , why is my lo mein and chicken crunchy ? I spit out my food and I see that there’s a whole entire finger nail in my food. I called the store and explained to them the situation and they denied all claims of a finger nail being in my food ; how can they tell me what i did or did not have in my food as if they ate it ? They told me I could bring it back and they would make me a new one . Why would I want another bowl of food after I just found a nail in my first combo ? So I told them that I could bring the food back but I wanted a refund. The receptionist continuously told me to hold on while she spoke to the cooks (which were yelling in the background) and she returns back to the call and tells me to come to the store with the food and I’ll get a refund. When I get there , there are about 5 cooks in the back and the receptionist and they all look at me because obviously I was the young lady that called and I had a bag in my hand. The receptionist opens up the container and examines the food and an older lady and man come from the back and they’re looking at the food and they pause and say : “Where’s the nail?” . If i took a bite of my food and spat it out because there was something in it , why would I place the object back into the food ? Good thing i took a picture though so I showed it to them. I swear to god the moment I showed them they started screaming in my face and throwing their arms in my face as well. The receptionist then says “No that’s not true that’s not us. We thought it was a piece of a finger nail not the whole thing. That’s not possible.” So then I proceed to tell them that I don’t care if it was a quarter , an eighth or a half of a nail. There was a nail in my food and since I was told i’d get a refund if i brought it back , that’s what i’m expecting and i don’t care to argue. From that moment on the older man screamed and said “NO YOURE NOT GETTING A REFUND” and they both proceeded to yell at me for about 5-7 minutes but I couldn’t really react because they weren’t speaking in a language that I understood. Obviously by their mannerisms, volume, and tone which they were speaking at … it was apparent that they were saying some not so nice things. At the end of the day I’m a college student in Richmond by myself so I’m not going to argue with randoms at a restaurant so i told them I’m going to call the cops and the man got in my face and said “CALL THE COPS” so that’s what I proceeded to do until the receptionist came and asked me what I ordered and mentioned that she would void the transaction. Overall their food is good but because of the way I was treated and the attitude they gave me despite them being a business, i would NEVER go there again. Their behavior was disgusting and you’d never think something like this would happen to you until it does ! And for that , you guys get zero stars in my books. I was a returning customer that has been there multiple times and at that, the container was full when i brought it back. You guys should be ASHAMED...
Read moreI rarely write reviews nor do I rate under 3 stars but I had to make an exception because I have never experienced such awful customer service before. I've been ordering from Fu Jian for over a year now and never once have they gotten my order wrong. I've never experienced too much friendliness from any of the staff but they weren't overly rude by any means... Up until today, Fu Jian was my main place for quick, nearby Chinese food but with the treatment I experienced today, I can honestly say I will not be returning again.
I attempted to use the online ordering through GrubHub, I used it on my phone but not through the app. I ordered fried dumplings, beef and broccoli, a spring roll, and egg drop soup. NOTHING WAS RIGHT. Aside from the egg drop soup tasting awful and bland, the fried dumplings were not fried, they were steamed. The beef and broccoli was also steamed. The woman I spoke with said that I had ordered the fried dumplings and steamed beef and broccoli. Ok, then why did I order steamed dumplings? And I never chose steamed vs cooked beef and broccoli? The wrong order wasn't as much of a problem in comparison to HOW THEY HANDLED IT. I called and explained to the young woman what happened and she said to me, "can I call you back?" then she just hung up........ 45 minutes to an hour later a man called me back and tells me he can remake the order. But by the time they called me back I was already on my way to work and already skipped lunch. SO this guy tells me they can't refund me but they'll credit me for another order or make another order and bring it to my work, but I honestly didn't even want to eat anymore, I was so frustrated with the little customer service and concern for a frequent customer I KNOW...
Read moreI hate to leave bad reviews, but Fu Jian was so bad it ruined my night!
The food arrived 35 minutes earlier than it was supposed to, so I was in the shower when my driver arrived. I could not hear him knocking, because he was not knocking on my apartment door, which was listed on the order as the dropoff location, but rather the storm door of the entire apartment complex. When I finally realized what was going on, I ran outside to meet him.
I opened the door, and immediately he shouted, "What's wrong with you?!" He shouted so loudly that my neighbors peeked their heads out of their apartments to see what was going on. He passed me my food and stood there fuming, waiting for a tip.
I checked my phone after going in, and when I checked the time stamps on the 17 missed calls I had from him, it was obvious that he was not outside for longer than 2 minutes.
If being screamed at wasn't enough to ruin my night, it was - HANDS DOWN - the worst Chinese food I've ever had in my life! And I've had a lot of Chinese food in my life.
Completely tasteless, colorless, and cold. An awful experience, truly awful. RUN, don't walk away...
