Went here for dinner yesterday night and it was good. Dinner - service was really good, very attentive service. The waiter explained everything well. Host sat us and provided suggestions on food. Highlight- the service. Drinks - manager or someone gave us two free drinks. Nice little added touch. Great wine selection- approachable in selections and organized well too. The waiter had good suggestions on food and wine paring. He was Honest on spice and portion sizes. Bar - didn’t match the vibe the rest of the restaurant. Looked too divvy. Not the same vibe. Vibe - trendy community wine bar. Not too crowded. Large circle table to accommodate larger group. Food - bread was good. Infused olive oil was tasty. Salads- sweet and tangy. Add the fact that side salads are available on the menu. Groupers - flaky and took on the flavor of the sauce though. It was on the lighter sider, so the portion size could be a hair larger. Wild rice was cooked well. Honey Scracha on the groupers - over powered the dish. Have it on the side. Lemon cake - liked it. Bathroom- gross feeling floor (sticky). Loved how they had Had tampons and pads (menstrual products)in the bathroom- amazing!

Henley on Grace is a great tucked-away restaurant in the middle of the iconic Grace Street. This is a nice little place with an eclectic vibe. I would recommend making reservations as we had done. When we got there, it was pretty crowded, but there was plenty of parking around the corner. We were seen and seated right away by a pleasant host. Our waitress came promptly over to the table and took our cocktail orders. While my husband enjoyed an Old-fashioned, I tried their Long Island Iced Tea. It was our first time at Henley’s and my husband and I loved it. We tried two of their specialty dishes from the Father’s Day Brunch menu. The food was fresh and delicious; portions were great. The food was served in about 20 minutes, which was great timing considering the crowded restaurant. I highly suggest this place. The staff is attentive and friendly. The atmosphere is warm and cozy, making it the perfect spot for a relaxed meal.

I wish I could give 3.5 stars. That feels more accurate. This is a fine dining eatery downtown with a a seafood fusion specialty. $$$ Greeted by great staff that explain everything to you. I had the Carl-Asian Ahi tuna. Meal was prepared and presented well. My pallet wasn't wow'd.. (In fact I had to add soy sauce..) But overall pretty satisfied with the dish. The hiccup I have here is that while the food is fine dining quality, the atmosphere isn't quite there. They try with the lighting and the excellent staff, but anywhere I'm practically rubbing shoulders with other patrons while I eat, loses points. Yes I can clearly hear the conversations of the people on each side of me and I'd pay more money to NOT. Pricing isn't fully justified for this reason. I will add however, that it was packed when I came in at 7pm on a Saturday but by the time I left at 8pm, 2/3 or the people had left. So make of that what you will.

Our third visit to Henley on Grace (HOG). Tonight, an early reservation before a show within easy walking distance to the venue. We had no challenges finding nearby on-street, parallel metered parking, along with the inviting entry featuring branded awning, sidewalk tables, and open windows. The interior is updated with exposed brick, rich colors, and contemporary art for a cozy, modern ambiance and inviting aesthetic. We requested the full-service bar with comfortable backed stools and ordered a couple of handcrafted cocktails that were opulent and balanced. Unfortunately, we do not recall ambient music to review. Fresh-baked soft bread, extra virgin olive oil infused with aromatic herbs, and soft butter were soon presented.

Wine is the restaurant's focus, with diverse choices from reasonably priced house to more elegant and elevated wines by the glass or bottle. The knowledgeable, relaxed bartender made excellent suggestions to exceed our inclinations. It is comforting when you can depend on professionals to offer superb recommendations. An accessible wine attribute is that they open any wine if you oblige to two glasses from the bottle. Wines were poured generously, delighted the senses, complimented the food, and were savored!

Our first course was the Smoked Salmon Crostini, composed of layers of fantastic flavor, freshness, and texture. For entrees, we thoroughly enjoyed both the California-Asian-inspired Ahi Tuna and Wine Country Scallops. The giant sea scallops were among the best I have ever relished. Perfect size, cooking, seasoning, freshness, and setup. The salmon, tuna, and scallops are unmissable. Laudable portions served at the proper temperature, satisfying, stimulating, layered, multifaceted, rich, flavor profiles were bright tasting, not heavy or palate fatiguing, and in a word, delectable.

The service was attentive, warm, welcoming, with unobtrusive delivery throughout the visit. In addition, William, the owner, has authentic, engaging dialogues with guests in the absolute best old-world style of hospitality. Three reliably enjoyable meals in, HOG has moved towards the top of our favorites and is a must repeat destination. They are offering lunch, brunch, or dinner most days except for closed Monday....

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Just when you think you’ve tasted it all, Henley on Grace takes you to the next level. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was electric—think warm lighting, plush comfortable seating, and that perfect combination of kind faces and a buzz of good conversation The Lamb Lollipops: Seriously, these were melt‑in‑your‑mouth perfect—tender, juicy, and seasoned to absolute perfection. Every bite felt like a little celebration. The Steak & Eggs (for my 13 year old, Mason): A brunch classic. The eggs were fluffy and dreamy, and the steak was cooked just right—Mason cleaned his plate and then asked for more! A huge shout‑out to William, the manager, who somehow remembered me from another spot and steered me toward a champagne that was nothing short of divine. Bubbles that danced on the tongue and paired flawlessly with both savory bites and sweet sips. Tim, our server, deserves all the applause—he was intuitive, attentive, and made sure our mimosa and Bellini game were ON POINT. When we joked that Mason would be footing the bill, Tim playfully offered for him to wash dishes afterward—now that’s humor and hospitality with a smile! Henley on Grace nails that balance between upscale elegance and laid‑back comfort. It’s the perfect place for date night, family brunch, or just treating yourself to something extraordinary. In a nutshell, Exceptional food, impeccable service, and those personal touches—from William’s spot‑on suggestions to Tim’s playful charm—make Henley on Grace a must‑visit. Already planning our next visit! ❤️ #HenleyOnGrace #FoodieHeaven #FiveStarExperience #FamilyBrunch...

My wife and I dined there on a Saturday night, just before catching a performance of the Richmond Symphony Orchestra. It was our first time at Henley on Grace.

The host, “John J.” greeted us, guided us to our table, and was our server/waiter for the evening.

I had the California Chicken Breast, and my wife had the Lemon Ginger Salmon with white wine.

The chicken dish was perhaps the best I have ever had, and I told the server that. It was delicious! If I had my own Food Channel show of "The Best Thing I Ever Ate," this meal might be at the top of the list.

My wife also very much enjoyed her salmon dish.

We did not have any appetizers.

We ordered the Limoncello Cake for dessert, which was moist, tangy, and bursting with citrus flavor.

John J. Offered sage advice about items on the menu, wine selection to pair with our entrées and recited the dessert options by heart.

He also gave us walking directions from Henley on Grace to the Dominion Energy Center for our show.

The food is absolutely fantastic, and the service is very good. There aren't many tables, and the place started filling up noticeably after 6 PM. Noise level is very tolerable.

The presentation is also impeccable. The dishes almost look too pretty to eat

I will return because I cannot lose the memory of that California Chicken Breast dish. The Chocolate Decadence dessert, as was the gluten-free calamari, which we may try on our next visit, was also tempting.

I give this place an A+! A...
