KAT'S Breakfast & Lunch — Restaurant in Richmond

Kay’s Breakfast and Lunch is a really warm and cozy food shop, with delicious lunch and best of all, breakfast. I love how cozy the interior is. I order breakfast, since I love breakfast any time of the day. They have condiments and hot sauce lined up near the front counter, with a bottle soda in the back if that’s what you want. The chef was really responsive when he noticed me coming in to take order, despite it looking like he’s soloing everything by himself. The food though, was so good. Nice fluffy biscuit with crispy bacon, cover with some delicious gravy, with a nice side of lovely eggs! I just had to add some hot sauce to heat it up. After eating such a meal, I felt satisfy and full. Usually when you get a meal at McDonald’s or something, you would still feel hungry after, but not this. It’s also not to the extent of feeling bloated either, which is nice. My only complaint is the door, if you’re a first timer and saw the entrance. You would think this doesn’t lead to an area that sells food. Even with a sign that can easily be missed. I had to walk around for there to be another sign pointing back to the other door to make sure. Should really put another sign at that front entrance. This place is Top 5 breakfast and lunch staple in the heart of Richmond, Va. Everything is cooked fresh with a southern flavorful twist. It’s a black family owned restaurant, and it gives off that vibe/atmosphere that anyone is welcome from business men and women to just regular people who’s looking for something good and quick to eat. The service is great quick turnaround time after taking your order, even this they have a consistent flow throughout their business hours. I personally had the French Toast, Scrambled Eggs, Baked Apples (my favorite) and Turkey bacon. The French Toast is the best that I’ve ever had and I’m a pancake type of guy but these French Toasts are 9/10. The entire meal was 10/10 I ain’t gone lie. It was my first time visiting Kat's Breakfast and I must say it was a awesome choice and experience!!! I planned to make a to-go order but the atmosphere/ombiance drew me to sit down and enjoy my food there. The staff all had smiles on their faces and I actually felt that they enjoyed working there. As I was eating, I wasn't sure if it was the owner or not (but I'm gonna say he was lol) but, he came over to my table and asked if I needed anything and if I was enjoying the food and then handed me partial of my $ back because he said that I was accidentally over charged, I insisted that he keep it because the food was amazing and everyone surely deserved kudos!
