Mug's Café & Bakery — Restaurant in Roanoke

Mug's Cafe & Bakery is hands down the best place to visit if you're looking to have a good laugh and enjoy some delicious treats! Recently, we had Mitch go here as part of a lost bet, and he had to dress up as a blushing bride. Kim and Lainie were absolutely fantastic in helping to make this moment as embarrassing as possible for Mitch.

They went all out by making a "Just Married" sign for him, and the looks of astonishment and amusement from other customers were priceless. Mitch, with his full bridal gown, veil, and bouquet, looked absolutely ridiculous and couldn’t stop smiling, (and blushing) clearly enjoying being the center of attention.

Kim and Lainie encouraged Mitch to pose in various hilarious bridal stances, wave to passersby, and even had him pose around the café. They made sure to capture every embarrassing moment, and their playful spirit really brought the experience to life.

Not only was the atmosphere fun and lively, but the cupcakes were also out of this world – truly the best we've ever had! If you ever want to create a memorable and laugh-filled experience, Mug's Cafe & Bakery is the perfect spot. Thanks again to Kim and Lainie for making Mitch’s public humiliation both delightful and delicious.

Ordered a custom cake a few weeks back for my wife birthday and picked it up a couple of days ago. First, great service when we ordered and when we picked up. Friendly, professional and made easy each time I was in. Second, the cake was phenomenal. Outstanding decoration and spot on for the ask (fruit/flowers). It came out better than expected. Given this was my first custom cake order, ever, I did not know what to expect and was nervous about the end result. Finally, the cake itself was awesome. Moist, excellent flavor and the right balance of sweet with the frosting. The baker and decorator here is outstanding and I will definitely come back for a custom cake. As an aside, although I did not order anything else, they have a great selection of other sweets and baked goods that I look forward to trying in the future. I would not use this bakery and not sure why my previous review was removed. They forgot my sons custom cake order a couple years back that was ordered 3 weeks in advanced. They told me when I went to pick up, oops we forgot and pulled the order to look at it. Said come back in an hour it will be ready..I said a fresh custom cake in an hour??? Ok!?. They pulled together some pre-made cake, with terrible decorations, and I had to still pay full price. The cake was ugly and tasted horrible...what's the best part of a kids birthday next to presents, their cake...it ruined his birthday! It was not a fresh nor hand crafted cake we ordered. The owner was NOT apologetic and was actually rather rude and flippant about it. Like it was no big deal and happens all the time...so buyer be ware!
