I don’t usually complain about restaurants because I know how stressful it can be, but after my experience here I have to say something.
First issue was the wait. We arrived at the restaurant at 5:50, our order wasn’t taken until 6:15, and our food didn’t come until 7:30. I wouldn’t mind waiting for my food but I saw multiple tables getting their food before us, and they were seated at least 30 minutes after us. After I asked about it, the waiter reacted as if he had forgotten to put in our order.
Second issue was the food quality. I ordered the paneer tikka masala and it was very watery. We told the waiter the problem and he said tikka masala is always watery. I’ve eaten this item numerous times in my life and I know that it should not be like a soup. At this point we just wanted to leave because we were running late so we asked for the check, which took 20 extra minutes to take care of.
Last issue I had was completely unacceptable and should never happen at any establishment. On our way out of the restaurant, my friend slipped and fell on the ground. There was food all over her pants. Apparently the waiter had spilled some food there so it was slippery. However, there was no sign stating that the floor was wet. As soon as the waiter returned, he saw my friend on the floor and started cleaning up the mess like nothing happened. Didn’t say a single word to us. I thought that was extremely rude considering that it was his own fault this happened. My friend currently has a big bruise and is in a lot of pain. After this happened, I regretted tipping them at all.
Would give 0 stars if I could. 100% will never come back. Hopefully you can have a better...
Read moreA Disastrous Experience of Questionable Food and Inexcusable Management
Our visit for a birthday celebration was irrevocably spoiled by a series of appalling service failures, culminating in what we believe to be food poisoning. The problems began when our simple request to change tables was flatly denied. However, the main issue arose from the food itself. After eating a specific sabji (Vegetable korma), both my friend and I experienced sudden, acute nausea and stomach distress. We immediately felt unwell and were unable to continue our meal. When we brought this to the manager's attention, we were met not with concern, but with hostility and denial. He dismissed our physical symptoms and argued that the food could not be at fault, even suggesting we were confusing illness with "feeling hot." His "solution" was to offer dessert, which was entirely inappropriate given we were trying not to be sick. The final insult was being presented with the full bill, which included the very dish that made us ill. There was no apology, no concession, just a bill for a meal that ended our night and made us physically unwell. Our concerns were validated shortly after leaving. Within 15 minutes, my friend, the birthday girl, vomited the food she had just paid for. A restaurant's character is shown in how it handles a problem. This establishment failed on every level: food quality, customer safety, and basic human decency. I cannot in good conscience recommend this place to anyone. The experience was unacceptable, and the manager's conduct was some of the worst I have ever encountered. dish that...
Read moreThe buffet isn't huge, but I felt like there was plenty to chose from - especially for the very reasonable price of $7.95. They offered two kinds of basmati rice, chicken curry, roasted tandoori chicken with peppers & onions, tandoori chicken with a creamy tomato sauce, korma curry, and a variety of vegetables that were prepared in different ways. There was a small salad bar, which also had fruit, chocolate mousse, & rice pudding. AND - they bring you a basket of garlic naan! I'm sure there are more appropriate names and descriptions of the food, but I'm not an expert and didn't really study the descriptions of the dishes. I was a huge fan of the curry and the two tandoori dishes. The curry and the tandoori with the cream sauce went great on top of the rice and the roasted chicken had a great skin and tasted like a really good rotisserie chicken. The garlic naan was delicious as well - and I particularly liked it with the tzatziki-like sauce (which was much better than the ranch dressing I accidentally got). I wasn't too fond of some of the vegetables (particularly the fried broccoli) or the rice pudding, but the chocolate mousse and orange slices served as a nice ending.
The service was very good and the atmosphere is cool. It's not the tacky Bollywood look that some Indian places have and there is plenty of space to handle busy crowds. As always with downtown restaurants, parking is a bit of an issue, but this is a good change of pace from many downtown...
