Walkabout Outfitter — Local services in Roanoke

This is my 1st Google review ever so I apologize if I ramble. I recently came into a rough situation and am having to live outside. To make it a little easier on myself I started approaching it as more of a a thru hike than homelessness. When I discover this shop downtown and the staff heard my story they didn't judge but immediately stated helping out. Ocer the last couple months I've gone there every payday and made several purchases. The steff gives me advice and even let's me try things out to make sure they work for me. They've even told me when to come in for sales to help me out. When I'm backonny feet I plan to hike the Appalachian, and will continue to be shopping there for years to come. Excellent shop everyone...

I've been going to Walkabout Outfitter for years now, but I have to shout out to my local store in Downtown Roanoke, of course. The products they sell here are Great, but what I love even more are the people that work hereGoing into an outfitter store can be intimidating, almost like going to the gym the first time. You don't quite know yet what equipment to start with, how it works, or what works best for your goals. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful with any questions you may have, and Not pushy trying to sell you things as soon as you step in the door. The space is welcoming, clean, and they have a lot to select from. I've gotten sized for shoes, packs, and even got my first pair of ski overalls from here!...
