This place was honestly disappointing because I was excited to go. Food is good but portion sizes are way too small for the price they charge. Don’t order the oysters. There was absolutely no oyster meat and the waitress pitched them so she could earn a free meal. They were shockingly small and cost way too much for essentially a shell with water. Wine is good but nothing special for what they charge. Cajun chicken pasta was admittedly great but I had to wait wayyyy too long to eat.
The service is awful. Waitresses don’t seem to pay attention to customers, at least when I came in. I sat at the bar for several minutes before I got a menu then waitress disappeared to prep for end of shift before checking on food. After ordering the oysters (again, absolute waste of money because the portion served was almost nothing. I had more horseradish than oyster) and the Cajun chicken pasta the wait for either took far too long. After they pitiful oysters came, the waitress asked for my entree order but while taking my order she also took a phone call and wandered off to deal with that person. It was another ten minutes and trying to wave down two other waitresses before I confirmed the entree had finally been placed. In the meantime the first waitress lied that she put the order in with the oysters (having asked me if I wanted an entree after I finished the appetizer). The entree was actually delicious, although portion size was frustrating (the bread it comes with might as well be a crouton).
I was truly disappointed because this place looked good and really could be amazing. The pasta was admittedly tasty but I left still really hungry and ordered a whole other meal at a place down the street after paying way too much here. Disappointing because this place could be absolutely killer. Management needs to address wait staff problems particularly soon. Don’t fire anyone but absolutely retrain and make sure they pay attention to customers. I arrived at around 8:20 or so and they were already prepping for the close that wouldn’t happen til 10 pm. When I was still hungry and I tried ordering dessert at 9:30 (which reflects how slow and inattentive the service was) the kitchen was closed.
But I left so disappointed and frustrated having overpaid for what I got. I wish I’d gone elsewhere initially because that’s what I ultimately did after...
Read moreThe manager was so lovely and efficient (his server called out, he was the only one working the floor at a busy 5:30 pm) i hesitate to write this review. He was 100% helpful and attentive, i cant say too many good things about him!
2 of us ordered pizza, one GF. They were ‘ok’.. nothing to come back for. I had the $26.00 crab cake, which (supposedly, as promised by the manager) ) came with hollandaise sauce (but it came with a very small hard pat of butter on top with apologies that the hollandaise is only for lunch time.). These were more like flat, 1/2 “ thick patties than cakes. I did not expect them to be blackened and I’m not sure they were officially blackened, but I would call them burnt. They were completely black and tasted burnt. . The patties were so thin there was very little crab in them and by halfway through the meal, puddles of yellow Grease had seeped out of them and covered my whole plate. I don’t know what kind of pilaf (?) that was with it had absolutely no flavor. I could only eat most of crabcake and I just covered the other one up with my napkin so as not to make it look to my husband like I had wasted half my meal! Husband had the red snapper, blackened as well to his surpise. He also had a puddle of unappealing yellow grease on his plate when he finished. it was a special occasion and no one wanted to make a fuss so we just paid our bill which was over $100 and left. And, We left a generous tip. To be clear we did not complain to the manager as we basically wanted to get out of the overwhelming noise of the place as soon as possible... (it has the acoustics of a gymnasium, before the meal we moved from the front of the restaurant by the windows to the back to get away from the noisy atmosphere … we could hear every single word of several conversations going on around us. ) Again the server was wonderful. The manager was the server. I understand they were shorthanded, but that is not an excuse for the inedible crabcakes I received and the overly...
Read moreFirst impression was a chic restaurant with a catchy name but after receiving our food, I was not impressed. We went for brunch at 10am (right when the restaurant opened) We got the Bloody Mary bar which was really good but they only had very little items to select. After my wife and I made our drinks there were several items that where now out. You would have thought that it would have been fully stocked with us being the only ones in there. We ordered the Crab Cake Benny. English muffin/crab cakes/ old bay hollandaise/over easy eggs and micro greens. Just the thought of this with my bloody mary had me so hungry and excited, but then when the waitress brought out the dish (we ordered 3 of them for our table) we immediately asked the waitress where is the hollandaise sauce. She told us that the chef putts it under the eggs and the crab cake absorbs it, with confusion faces we all 3 lifted up our eggs and we could clearly see that the store bought boxed crab cake had no sauce. We then asked for some sauce on the side which we were told no problem but there will be a up charge. I think to deter us from asking for the sauce. We all 3 said yes we would like extra sauce and the waitress went back in the kitchen. She then returned to inform us that they were out of the sauce and it would take some time for the chef to make more. We said yes please make it because the eggs were already over done and had very little yoke and the store bought boxed crab cake was dry. After some time she brought us out some sauce which did not resemble hollandaise sauce at all and had a taste of butter and Dijon mustard. We were now done, we ate what we could and left very disappointed. I don't think we will...
