I would recommend this dining experience to those that I dislike immensely.
We utilized the virtual wait-list. This is so that persons can wait in their vehicles during busy hours versus clogging the entrance and bumping into each other.
We waited an hour before we were called; the estimate given was 40 min. This is not a bad mark as we waited in our vehicle.
Once we came inside, we waited an additional 15 minutes to be seated. This i do have a problem with. If the table isn't ready, don't alert the customer and say it is.
We were sat at a dirty table; the previous occupants signed check was still upon it. The manager who sat us made no attempt to wipe the table nor remove the completed check.
It took another 10 min for the server to greet us: this was with a "I'll be with you in a bit"... Cool, guy. Take your time. 10 min after that he came back for our drink orders.
I ordered a Cabernet by its name. He referenced it as the wrong type of wine. I politely corrected him with the correct type: "no, I don't want a Pinot grigio. I am ordering the Cabernet.". He sighed at me. Excuse me, guy, for insisting that you bring me the correct drink.
The server comes back after another 10 min. He forgot my wife's drink. He did remember to bring part of the neighboring table's drinks. How do I know this? Because he decided to place all the drinks on my table whilst distributing them to both tables ...
As a parting gift, there was a fruit fly floating in the wine carafe.
The steak ordered was medium rare. It came out as medium thirty minutes later. It was not worth sending back and waiting for a reorder.
The appetizer came out without plates. I suppose a dirty table was to be utilized as a plate?
Here's the worst part. I don't think that the manager, the greeter, nor the server understood that any of the aforementioned was inappropriate.
I enjoy fine dining; I expect good service.
This was subpar. That being said, this is Pittsburgh. Perhaps the denizens that frequent this establishment were raised to think that this is appropriate.
In my opinion, this dining experience was only a few steps away from sleeping in a slop pen next to pigs that inhabit it. This experience is certainly not one that I would pay for nor recommend to someone that I liked.
This guy sounds like someone that doesn't tip, you are thinking to yourself at this point?
While I personally feel that a tip should be earned by service and the amount given should reflect satisfaction in that service, in this country it is culturally acceptable and expected to tip a minimum of 20% regardless of service quality. To deviate from these expected cultural norms is inappropriate. Thus...
Read moreLast week, I had the pleasure of visiting this restaurant for the second time in my life, and I was truly surprised that I hadn’t discovered it sooner. My first visit was in Pittsburgh, and my second was right here in Kankakee. What impressed me the most was the consistency of the incredible customer service at both locations. The managers took the time to check on us personally, and the staff were attentive, kind, and exceptionally helpful in guiding our dining choices.
This visit was extra special because I was celebrating a friend who is expecting a new baby in the coming weeks. Throughout our dinner, several staff members stopped by to congratulate her—such a thoughtful touch!
Now, let’s talk about the food—it’s absolutely incredible. We started with freshly baked bread accompanied by sweet butter that I could honestly eat a thousand times without ruining my appetite. I ordered the steak, which was not only surprisingly affordable but also delicious beyond words. My steak was cooked to perfection, and my companions wholeheartedly enjoyed their meals as well; everything looked appetizing.
Payment was a breeze too! At the end of our meal, I appreciated the convenience of being able to pay independently at a small kiosk at our table. It was quick and simple, allowing me to input my card information and be on my way.
What stood out most during this visit was the culture of truly exceptional customer service, consistent across both locations. I will definitely be returning in the future, and I highly recommend that you give it a try if you haven’t already! This restaurant is family-friendly, and I noticed many families enjoying their meals as well. I hope this review helps you discover a great...
Read moreMy wife and i took my brother in law visiting from out of state to the longhorn because he wanted a good steak. The waitress was very nice, atmosphere okay but the food and drinks a real disappointment.. My wife enjoyed her salad but my brother in law and myself ordered the outlaw rib steak. The meat was so tough that it took us several cuttings to get a piece of steak. We both had to hold our plate in place when cutting the meat because it was so tough and believe me i love rib steak but this truly was the worst rib steak that i ever had. My french onion soup had no soup only soggy cheese and bread and no real juice. I requested a rum and coke in a tall glass and when i received the drink it was filled from the bottom to top with ice. I could not even taste the rum. The bread was hard as a rock and my wife who loves coffee said it tasted like it was brewed a day before. And was almost undrinkable it was so stale. If my guest was not with me we would have walked out and left the garbage. I did give it an extra star because of the atmosphere and a nice waitress. I might have made a mistake because we went early at about 4:30 pm and i guess we got yesterday food. Never again go to a Longhorn...
