This is the first negative review I have ever written. I’m not one to go out of my way to drag a business’ name through the mud
I went here yesterday to get some work done on my laptop. All of the tables were filled with crumbs or dishes. As someone who has worked as a server, I assumed that it was peak time and didn’t think too much of it.
When I went up to the counter there were 3 girls standing around talking, I had to interrupt their conversation to get help. Her service was so dry and impersonal. She didn’t offer any knowledge about any of the products and acted as if I was bothering her
When I went up there to ask for the wifi password, I even apologized while asking and said they probably get this question constantly. All they did was point to a small paper on the counter with the password
They (the workers) all stood around just talking - it wasn’t even busy! the customer service was horrible, and my iced coffee was still hot when I received it.
I was only there for 90 minutes but twice I was distracted by an awful smell of stale burnt coffee beans I’m guessing?? Who knows but it was enough to give me a headache and distract me from my work.
Thankfully a tall man did clean up all of the dishes but he kept slamming things. It made the vibe so weird
I won’t be back, I can’t believe I paid for parking for a weak coffee and...
Read moreI’ve been going to the Bean & Leaf since they opened here when I was in high school. My parents still live in downtown Rochester, so whenever I visit, I love to stop by for their iced coffee - the best I’ve ever had! However, my last few visits have been less than great. Two times in a row I’ve ordered a large drink and been given a medium. The first time I didn’t notice til I left, the second, I couldn’t seem to get the attention of the girls behind the counter, sho were deep in conversation, so just accepted what I had. Most recently though, I stopped by to redeem a loyalty award I had for $2 off. The cashier said it would apply after I paid, but it did not, at which point another barista joined in to try to help, eventually getting frustrated and asking if I could just use the reward next time. I explained that I don’t live in the area and come in maybe 4 times a year, which was met with an eye roll and I was given $2 cash from the register. While I appreciate this, I felt like I was made to feel like a huge jerk and a burden for even asking to use the discount. I understand customer-facing roles are difficult these days (I work in one myself) but I’m getting the vibe that I’m more of a nuisance than a welcome customer here these days,...
Read moreThe atmosphere of this coffee shop was very relaxing, pretty, and aesthetic, I was very pleased with it. My girlfriend and I went for a hot chocolate as we walked around to see the lights on the night of December 6th, 2023, and we were very excited to do so. However, when I didn’t tip on my $2 hot chocolate, the barista, who was dressed in green with a green headband and a bun, was very rude too us afterwards. After making my drink, which was very poor quality, I said “thank you” rather nicely and she responded coldly and rudely with a “yea” and glared at me. Once my girlfriend left the bathroom and smiled over at her, unbeknownst of the situation, she glared very rudely at her as well. My girlfriend has continuously visited this coffee shop for years now, and has always loved the service and drinks. She, herself, is a barista and understands how the drinks are made and the quality of good drinks and care for the customers’ orders. I hate to leave a negative review because this place is typically pleasant, however, this barista was very rude and ruined this experience for me and...
