After having a confrontational episode with our over emotional waiter, named John. I can only give this a solid one.
John came out to the table late, and was sort of a sub par waiter the entire time. The food that was served wasn't really that great either for the price, and the order for my girlfriend was wrong. She asked for eggs over hard, not easy. Naturally, after luke warm service and food for premium price I didn't tip well.
John confronted me after and explained that the tip would barely cover his tip out. I took pity on him and shelled out and extra 2 dollars that he really didn't deserve, and then mentioned that we wouldn't be returning, John screamed that he, "doesn't want people who tip great here anyway" and slumped away like an ungrateful child, I told him to arrive at the table at a timely manner and he might receive a full tip, to which he responded with a gesture that closely resembled the finger, but I couldn't really make out what he was doing.
If John approached us and apologized for his inconvenience of being late and asked if there was anything else he could do better next time, I would have been happy to up the tip because it shows maturity, and this review wouldn't exist. But sadly, since he was a complete manchild about it, here we are. I can't recommend anyone go eat there while he is currently...
Read moreTo start I will say the food was great! Service was good. Really nice waitress. My 3 stars is due to a very (((subpar atmosphere))) and because of their artificial tasting watered down juices. I was expecting Rochester Brunch House level for this place. Yet the juices are all bottled and not fresh squeezed. My grapefruit juice was hot pink rather than true grapefruit juice color. Tasted more like vitamin water. Orange juice also from a bottle. Their juices need to improve to go along with their beautiful and amazingly tasty breakfast foods. The atmosphere was dead silent with a few tables with people because their radio was down. (((Awkwardly silent))). I ended up playing my own music at my table on my phone. This place has delicious food but for the money I would definitely go to Rochester Brunch House over Recipes. I expected better. Delicious food was five star worthy for sure but the subpar atmosphere and horrible juices detracted from my dining experience enough to knock the entire experience down to a 3 star for me. I would not go again. Such a disappointment because I’ve been wanting to dine here forever and I finally found a morning free, donned my best hat and brunch attire and was really bummed out by the atmosphere which is just as relevant as the food. Sorry Recipes. 1 and...
Read moreI generally don’t post a 1 star because everyone has their own experience. But damn I was racially and financially profiled here just because I wore shorts on a good sunny day. I didn’t know they expect you to dress up, was just walking by after dropping my car off to get work done and was like oh.. here’s a place that serves breakfast.
At the door, one of the hosts was walking inside from seating someone and she looked at me and goes.. oh you’re coming in here? I thought nothing of it at first and felt maybe she’s just making sure she doesn’t hit me with the door after walking in
I ordered an order of pancakes which comes with three pancakes and scrambled eggs. The server kept trying to figure out if I wanted less of the pancakes or less of eggs. I didn’t ask for a recommendation but she gave it anyway and said the Benedict combo would be CHEAPER but it comes with two eggs and two pancakes. I responded with nope I wanted three pancakes and can blessfully(thank you God) afford it. But wow, did I want to get up and say something to her and ruin her Friday too.
I don’t blame the restaurant, but people need to learn to grow the xxck up and let someone tell you if they are broke. Also, the server’s demeanor changed when I handed her an...
