I was really looking forward to trying this spot and adding another go-to noodle place to the list, but our visit left us a bit underwhelmed.
I had the braised beef noodle soup, and my partner tried the zhajiang noodles. The black bean paste sauce on the zhajiang noodles was unexpectedly sweet—so much so that it overpowered the dish and made it hard to appreciate (or even notice) any other flavors.
The braised beef noodle soup was okay but didn’t quite live up to the promise of a rich, beefy broth. The flavors were on the mild side, and the beef itself was chewy and lacked the depth we were hoping for. That said, the bok choy was perfectly cooked and added a nice fresh touch to the bowl.
As for the noodles—since they’re advertised as house-made, I had high hopes that they’d be the highlight. Unfortunately, they were a bit undercooked (more tacky than al dente) and had a texture and flavor similar to standard dried pasta.
On the bright side, the service was fast and friendly, and the dining area was clean and comfortable. The presentation if their dishes was also lovely, visually speaking. The location has a lot of potential, and with some adjustments I think this place could really shine. It’s still early days, so I’m hopeful they’ll take feedback to heart and continue improving. For now, I’ll probably stick with First Meeting Noodle—but I’ll definitely keep an eye on how this...
Read moreI did a pick-up order for the steamed gyozas, the steamed meat noodle soup and the chicken noodle soup. The gyozas come with a delicious garlicky soy sauce. The taste is very soft and delicate but still very delicious. The soups were incredible, the broth tasted very rich, you can tell they are made from scratch, not too salty or overpowering. The noodles are served with very fresh vegetables and handmade noodles. As for the meat: It comes with the most tender beef pieces you'll taste! The chicken soup comes with a good sliced chicken breast.
Everything tasted delicious and the packing of the soup was great, the soups made it safely home. Very good option if you want to have a warm meal.
The attention was super kind and friendly, everything looks clean and neat and they have a bunch of tables for different size groups. 100%...
Read moreBrand new ramen and Chinese experience very near Mayo Clinic, I may have been one of the first 10 customers without knowing until I was seated. Hosts were warm and welcoming. Their food came quickly and well timed. I had hot tea, the fried calamari appetizer, and their signature beef ramen bowl, all very delicious and definitely more than one person should eat in one meal! Thank you, I-Chi Mein, for a wonderful experience and I wish...
