The appetizer I ordered (steamed dumplings (6 pieces) were delicious but surprising. The dumplings are meant to be dipped into the sauce; you’re missing out on flavor if you don’t do it. The sauce is soy sauce mixed, maybe with something a little sweet (would be sugar)? Maybe some ginger? I didn’t get much garlic, lemon, or ginger from it. The green onion and garlic flavor came from the filling.
I was completely expecting something different for the curry fried rice, extra spicy. It’s very dry. Not at all spicy. There’s not really a smoky curry flavor. Or a curry sauce. It’s just a blend of some seasonings.
I feel like the rice is different- it’s al dente and not fluffy...none of the rice sticks together. On the upside, the shrimp, egg, and chicken are tender. There’s a substantial amount of protein in this dish. The beef is soft but I still didn’t like the texture. (I’ll eat my steak medium or medium well.)
Might order from here again to try the scallops since the shrimp was well prepared- my dinner was delivered to me. And I would definitely try to order something with a sauce to see what happened with this non- existent curry.
There is a traditional menu available, so I might try one of those dishes and see if I can taste some heat.
The portions are a great value, but I don’t think I’ll eat...
Read moreWent in with my friend last night for some late-night food. The guy inside asked me some invasive, creepy questions that I felt kind of afraid to answer while my friend was in the bathroom. I like how he waited until she was gone. Then, when we got our food, it wasn’t BAD per se, but her and I agreed that it had a weird flavor. Sure enough, I woke up before 5AM with terrible food poisoning and as soon as I texted her about it, she responded saying she had it too. I had to call off of one of my last days of work for the summer season and she had to miss her class. Do not eat here. The food isn’t bad but it’s not good, and trust your gut when your food tastes funny.
Edit since it won’t let me respond to you: I considered late night food anything past 8. I remember being there right before close, at 9:05. Someone came in behind us as well. The fact you’re trying to dismiss and insult someone who paid for your food, shows what kind of establishment you run. Also, replying a year later does not help your case. I still remember you giving me violent food poisoning and when your front desk employee was being unprofessional and invasive. The person I was with remembers as well. I have texts from that night still as well naming your restaurant with the dates in line. Sorry to say, it was...
Read moreThis is my 3rd time ordering from here. First 2 times were good. Smaller portion sizes than the competitors. I don’t normally leave reviews, I just don’t return after a bad experience… today was a crazy day, so It was a $50 last minute dinner order. Everything was over cooked. I ordered a family general tso’s chicken, 2 orders of crab rangoon, fried wontons. With this we received 1 fork and 1 fortune cookie. Obviously the family size is intended for 1 person, not 4. The crust on the crab rangoons, and fried wontons was so burned it was inedible… the usual “soft” spot contained dried out meat. The sweet filling in the crab rangoons were pretty much cooked out of the wrap they are in. Empty. Yeah, they are supposed to be crispy, but not like burned tortilla chips. Now onto the main course.. No one will eat the chicken… it’s our go to order from any place like this over the last 20 years. It was very dark and dry. Which is bizarre for this meal. Odd charred oil flavor, can’t really explain it.. such a disappointment. Now it’s 7:15pm on a Saturday and I’m gonna have to order from another place… my kids eat just about anything and they won’t eat what...
