HobbyTown — Local services in Rockford Township

Found out about this store by the super friendly assistant manager, Ashley Werntz, at the World of Wheels car show. She took the time to answer all my questions. This store is amazing! First off, this store is fully stocked with everything and is extremely clean. Displays are properly done so the customer can really exam products before purchasing. The staff here is incredible! Nick B helped me with my pick up order of a MST RMX 2.5 and got me set up with a magnet mount kit, proper charger and battery packs. Nick B did a fantastic job and was nothing short of professional . Nick B took the time to explain how to charge the battery, all the settings and proper maintenance. I called Nick B a couple days later for some questions and he helped me for at least 20 minutes over the phone. John Curtis, the store manager, is an absolute class act. I live almost an hour and half away from the store and he took care of me when one of the magnets broke in the kit. He helped me by making it right and shipping me a new magnet kit at a discounted price. Todd did a great job helping me over the phone as well. I am absolutely impressed with this store's employees and look forward to making more purchases because of the employees. John Curtis, thank you again, you lead by example and your team absolutely shows it. Throughout my visit, all the employees were helping out and you can tell they enjoy working at this store and are passionate about hobbies. I would have given 10 stars if that...

I don't normally write reviews for a business, but after my fabulous experience here with the owner John and his manager Ashley I had to. The return spring for the steering wheel broke in my daughters remote for her rc car. I called the manufacturer of the remote and was told that they didn't service that model of remote and I had to buy a new one. I refused to buy a new remote just because I needed a spring. So I decided to start calling hobby shops in search of this part to fix her remote. After spending considerable time on the phone hunting for this I called and got John at the store. I explained to John what had happened and what I was looking for. He told me he had a used remote that I could buy for a few dollars. I then drove over an hour just to get this remote for this spring, by them having the spring he really made my daughters day !! After I got there and met with John he decided to just give me the spring, was not necessary but an awesome show of customer service. I had some questions and the manager Ashley was more than helpful. It is very refreshing to see some awesome customer service, it unfortunately is not as common as one would like to think anymore....

I'm all about the Cars, Trucks , Choppers and Quads. I have had Revos, T-Maxx's,and Savages.. I currently have 2 Stampedes, 1 Rustler, 3 Evaders, some redcats and other offbrand 1/10th scale stuff..an the latest is the XO1.

John and the guys at Hobby Town are AWESOME!... Not to mention Ashley! Ashley Rocks! She knows everything and I always ask for her because of it. Every time I go in they greet me like family and are very pleasant. They know exactly what their doing. I tend to talk a lot and ask a lot of questions and they are right there on top of any question I have... They carry a lot of knowledge. you can definitely tell that they all love their job and that is HUGE when it comes to customer service. They back up their Products with pride and knowledge and they even assist me with the items I bought online. Everyone knows you could probably save a couple pennies online buying Chinese products that fall apart in 2 or 3 uses. but you will NEVER get what they give you at Hobby Town in Rockford on Alpine...... Great Products, Great Prices and a great Staff. For me its Complete satisfaction.
