The Detour Bar & Grill — Restaurant in Rockford Township

This little bar/ restaurant in in a little tiny shopping nook near China express. Parking lot is a bit tight but it works. The burgers are very delicious. My husband and I seen the detour burger and mac n cheese in a photo online . Let me just say it caught our attention. Tonight I ordered the chicken salad and onion rings . My husband ordered the detour burger and mac n cheese . First off chicken salad caught me of guard when I seen GRAPES IN MY SALAD. I can't lie I was immediately upset . Why the online menu didn't exspress that the salad would contain grapes ,it ended up having them. It wasn't for me . It looked like a chicken salad had been slapped on top of romaine lettuce. There wasnt much effort there at all the romaine was very fresh however. Great ranch . I had a bite of the detour burger . When I tell you this burger hit all of the flavors a burger could ever hit. This burger hit them all! It's SATISFACTION in a bun! My husband loved it though it could be one patty heavier. That would make it to my number one for burgers. Sweet tangy from the sauce to the smokey flavor and the fluffy bun had me feeling like I was tasting a peice of art! Now if you're an onion ring fan HIT THIS PLACE ! THE ONION RINGS ARE TO DIE AND COME BACK TO LIFE FOR ! every individual ring was perfectly battered eventually crispy. These onion rings are one of the best I have ever tasted tbh. I have eaten at alot of restaurants but believe me the only other we reasturant that presents this quality of onion rings is a very highly priced reasturant a couple years back . Their prices are very affordable. The mac n cheese is so so so good ! Seems homemade very good creamy the same is a very good portion for one person. Tastes fresh. Very good place not a fan of the salad maybe they will change it to grilled chicken instead someday. I feel that would be more appropriate. Would definitely recommend for the burger and everything else. Just not the chicken...

We went for a comedy night, party of 9, the bartender did not even acknowledge us for at least 20 minutes. Then another bartender, Adam, came in and all we heard was how many people were there, he said 100, in reality it was 46 and why he couldn't help us. At that point we tried to make light of the situation, he totally had no sense of humor and took offense to everything we said. I would not recommend this place. If you have ever bartended you have to tolerate some degree of flirting. Customers will leave their number on the receipt, ask you out, or make unwelcome comments about all that shaking required to make a drink. It's mostly harmless and you can usually nip it in the bud by politely saying, "No thanks”. Not here though they give known married men their phone numbers and ask them to buy them for sushi dinner while they work etc...etc...Men leave the spouses at home here is a free number...Totally unprofessional #crossed the line.
