Do not take your animals to Brookside Veterinary Clinic . Mine was dead within 3 months because of their negligence. Took Nymeria here in May with suspected seizures. But also had a weird cough/breathing issue. The tech, Tori, did not like my dog and kept making snide remarks, I offered to muzzle Nymeria and they did not have me do that. She is anxious and just needs a caring and loving staff(or maybe Nymeria was just a good judge of character) . The last comment that made me angry was when I overheard her telling the vet that āof course she coughs she barks like a maniac, having that kind of dog back there a 2nd time puts the entire staff at riskā I confronted her saying she coughs all the time, not just when she barks. She was rude, gave me a dirty look and only apologized when my husband got there. Nymeria came back from chest X-rays and the other tech went on about how sweet and loving my dog was. So I know she was behaving back there. Dr. Damman comes back and says he saw a blip but he thinks she must have moved during the X-ray and so he diagnosed her with a brain tumor, based off symptoms. They didnāt want to help, just shoved seizures meds, discouraged us from seeking a specialist with talks of the THOUSANDS itās gonna cost me and that nothing that can be done for brain tumors. It would only give Nymeria another year tops. He said Take her home, give her these meds(phenobarbital) to help her, and enjoy the time you have left. The meds were absolutely awful and the longer she took them the worse she got. I called up there 3 times before the vet got back to me and he left a voicemail saying that I should bring her in to āevaluate quality of lifeā. (I still have the voicemail if anyone wants to take a listen to that) That was it. I called Hononegah animal hospital and Dr. Adas and staff were so great. Nymeria loved them. They could tell it was just anxiety and her being very protective over me so they asked me to step out and they just did the exam one on one and she did a phenomenal job. They started weening her off the meds and switching to something else. Which made her act completely normal again. A few weeks go by and She started swelling, so we took her back in to Dr. Adas, the issue was that the blip in the Xray was not from movement, it was early heart failure. Had it been caught by Brookside in May it could have been managed and treated with medication. But it had unfortunately progressed too far by this time. The fluid in her heart was leaking into her abdomen . We took her home, scheduled an in home euthanasia and spent 1 last week with our girl. August 17th 2024 was the last time I got to see the best girl. I am still completely heartbroken. My kids are still devastated. My home will never be the same. DO NOT TRUST THEM...

Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe've been going to Brookside Veterinary Clinic since Dr. Jay Forsyth opened the clinic. I was about 13 or 14 years old, so that would have been in 1973, or 74. We found a treasure in a lab coat, when we met this amazing compassionat man, and all the other amazing, compassionat doctors, like our amazing Dr. Dan! All the groomers, and assistance, working in the kennels, nursing sick babies back to health. All the wonderful assistance that have been working in the office throughout the years, even to this day! There's just not enough words in the English language to describe the dedication of these very professional, yet very down to earth people, I've met and watched work miracles over the past 43 years! We've shared so much of our lives with them all. There's been so many good memories, and some tears too. We've had a lot of dog's and cat's that have lived to be in their twenties, and they've all lived happy healthy lives too! I still don't trust any other Veterinary Clinic like I trust Brookside. I have a precious little black Chinese Pug. Her name is Bridgette and she's spoiled rotten, like all dog's should be! Nobody can clip her toe nails without her having a nervous breakdown, except the groomers at Brookside Veterinary clinic. She even likes her yearly check ups, she doesn't care for the shots though. I won't take Bridgette anywhere else but Brookside Veterinary Clinic, because they really are the best there is, and they really do love animals!...
