I'm a f&b consultant and I have designed and fixed restaurants alI over the US for 15 years and one thing that gets to me is when restaurant staff shows that there's absolutely no interest in creating an experience for their clients.

The service FOH was ok but there's clear lack of training from some staff members. The food in the other hand, was testament to a chef that has no passion nor management skills. The dinner was quite mediocre with a few hints of flavors that displayed know how, but the execution was that of a burnt kitchen staff that no longer cares about their job.

With high expectations from research we did during the day, we arrived to mediocre plates and orzo that had been just boiled with absolutely no seasoning demonstrates that the chef doesn't even taste what's been prepared in his kitchen. Au contraire, he was very interested in tasting the bar's mise en place.

It really infuriates me to experience such poor execution from the kitchen and then bump into a smiling chef with a clean chef coat and glass of wine at the host stand.

Chef, before the glass of wine and PR with your clients, know that you hold the responsibility of a clean execution from the back of the house. You need to earn your team's respect by inspiring your them with passion and by teaching them about ingredients and techniques.

That drive will be felt all the way throughout the restaurant and your guests will experience not just a good meal, but a memorable one that will live close to heart for years or even the rest of their lives.

From chef to chef, own it, get it together and get it right or relinquish the title to...

We wanted a fine dining experience in Rockport and internet research showed this restaurant seemed to fit the bill. I'm not sure if reservations are required, but we made reservations for 6pm on a Saturday. The drinks I got from the bar were excellent! A couple Woodford Reserve Old-fashioneds did the trick. I was disappointed in the side dishes on the menu. Almost all of the dinner entrees are served with the same sides; an orzo pasta and sautéed vegetables. Keep in mind, when I had my dinner, I enjoyed them, but I was surprised & disappointed in the lack of options. I ordered the stuffed shrimp and thought it was quite good. The salad with house vinaigrette was great! My wife is more of a steak lover, so she ordered the only beef option, the Steak Diane. This is supposed to be two 4-ounce beef tenderloin medallions. The "beef tenderloin" was surprisingly tough, as this should be the most tender cut of beef. It even had some sinew in it, which lead me to believe it may not have been beef tenderloin, or maybe just a bad cut. Either way, it was not of the quality we expected. The desserts were excellent. We had the key lime tart and the creme brulee, which was prepared tableside! I would rate 4.5 if I could. I just wish more sides were available and the beef wasn't of...

I made reservations here 60 days prior to arriving today. This was based on my experience last year which was great. My reservation was for 8 pm -party of 2-we arrived at 7:50 pm and were seated. It took about 10 minutes to get water. Finally a waitress arrived and took our drink order-and we ordered an appetizer. Those arrived about 8:30 -we had ordered our dinner prior to our appetizer arriving. At 9:30 our waitress informed us that the staff were fighting in the kitchen and our food was on the way. This was a good 1:15 hour after we had ordered our entree. By 9:45 we gave up and told our waitress to cancel the order. She brought our ticket and had taken our entrees off. Upon leaving I ask to speak to the owner/manager and the lady said we were going to offer you a solution -I ask what solution but none was offered. I said I made my reservation 60 days prior and waited almost 1.5 hours for my entree. They didn't offer anything at all for such a terrible experience and she was extremely rude -like it was my fault or such. I felt we were more than patient to even wait an hour. Not sure what is going on here but go to Wild Prawn instead -excellent service and food. We ate there the night...

⭐ 1 Star — If bland had a flavor, this place would bottle it and sell it for $30 a plate. - This place is charging five-star prices for food with zero-star flavor. My Chicken Florentine was so bland it could put salt to sleep. The spinach was mushy like baby food, “seasoned” with nothing but paprika — not a grain of salt in sight. The orzo rice? Slimy, sour lemon goo, like they used citrus to distract from the fact it has no taste at all. The shrimp linguine pasta was just as bad — like eating plain noodles in hot water. - The ONLY thing worth eating were the appetizers — the shrimp rolls and crabcakes were amazing. Honestly, I should’ve just ordered ten plates of those and skipped the entrées entirely. - When your entrée makes you wish you had just stuck to appetizers, that’s a problem. Beautiful plating can’t hide the fact that the food had no seasoning, no flavor, and no value for the price. - Summary: Only the appetizers had flavor — the entrées were overpriced, under-seasoned, and unforgettable for all the wrong reasons.

First time to visit. Savannah, our waitress, was so charming. The restaurant displays the work of local artists, giving the restaurant a lovely coastal flair. We started with the Jumbo Lump Blue Crab. It was cooked perfectly, and the lemon juice and capers gave it a nice pop. We also had the shrimp cocktail. The shrimp were nicely done. I selected both soup and salad. The poblano corn chower was not to my taste, but that is not a detraction from the chef. The house salad was really good, and I loved the balsamic dressing. For my main course, I ordered the daily catch Gilroy. The fish was black drum and it was cooked perfectly. The vegetables were a medley, and were crisp. The orzo was perfectly cooked, and the flavor was a great compliment to my fish. I want to return and order the shrimp linguini, as it looked delicious when brought to a neighboring table.

First time here and the reviews did not disappoint. Walked in to restaurant without a reservation and 40 min before close time, and starving after a 12 hr fishing trip. Staff were nice and accommodating. For appetizers we had stuffed mushrooms and crab cakes. Mushrooms were so fresh and with a light yet flavorful sauce. Crab cakes were a great surprise. All crab meat, great flavor and a perfect crust on the outside. We chose the fried shrimp and angel hair pasta with vegetables and added grilled shrimp. Fried shrimp were good, and the orzo side was tasty. The pasta was a big winner. Flavor was outstanding, very light sauce, and yet again so flavorful. House salad with vinaigrette dressing; vegetables were fresh, cool and crisp. It was too late for desert, so we took it to go. Key lime tart had a great presentation and perfect portion size.
