Finally got out to the new Eggsquisite Cafe Rockwall to give it a try. A lot of people ask “where is this place” (because apparently they are allergic to google 🤷♂️) but it’s near Kroger South, in the shopping center adjacent to Dickeys and Baskin Robbins, in the former site of Palio’s Pizza. If you want even more specific directions than that I will defer back to google where you can get the exact GPS coordinates.
Like any new place in this community, business was brisk and there were plenty of people waiting outside to get a table. I’ll be transparent when I say that some people may find the seating arrangements in here uncomfortable considering the current health crisis, but instead of getting into divisive discussion let’s move on to the actual topic at hand.
We were sat promptly at a clean booth. The entire place is brand new, so it’s clean and nicely decorated. You can just tell that everything is fresh and new. The menu is massive, a double sided poster that has breakfast options on one side and lunch options on the other. I believe both menus are available when they’re open.
The places especially known for breakfast, and they pretty much hit on all cylinders in that regard. They have everything from traditional breakfast platters in every possible combination, to an assortment of interesting eggs Benedict’s, breakfast skillets, an assortment of omelettes, and an entire section of the menu dedicated just to variations of pancakes.
This place is kind of like a fancy IHOP with a better menu, better food, and about the same pricing.
In fact, the pricing is probably one of the strong points here, you would expect a place with sort of craft inspired high-quality items like this to have a little bit higher pricing, but instead this place is more reasonably priced like a traditional diner. You won’t get sticker shock on any of the items here.
I ended up going with the Denver omelette, pictured, and it was great. Fluffy and perfectly mixed. I don’t want to oversell it, it wasn’t worthy of a 20 mile trip, but it’s certainly a great omelette in this new community café.
They had five different variations of toast, which was cool, when I told him I want to toast he started going down the whole list of all the different breads that they had, which I appreciated.
This is a serious contender for breakfast in Rockwall.
The service continued to be on point, we never went more than a couple of minutes without being checked on, refills were kept up, and plates that were no longer needed were quickly removed from the table. Don’t you just love that, when those plates get removed from the table quickly? I hate when plates start piling up all over the place and you run out of space.
Breakfast for three here was had under $40, and I was ordering extra fancy, I’m sure that many couples could get out of here for about 18 bucks.
Overall I can give a recommendation to the new Eggsquisite Café in Rockwall, I will just only warn you that they are especially busy and popular, so go in there with that expectation that a lot of other people also want to be there just like you...
Read moreMy wife and I have been to another Eggsquisite Cafe location a few times in the past. We were in Rockwall on a Friday morning, and decided to look for a breakfast spot. We saw Eggsquisite Cafe, and decided based on past experiences to give this location a try.
So we visited the Rockwall location that Friday morning, and then that afternoon, we invited several family members to breakfast at that location the next day. I am happy to report that our wonderful experience was repeated on Saturday.
Eggsquisite has a varied menu, with a lot of incredibly diverse choices, whether you are a meat lover, have a sweet tooth, or favor yogurt, granola and fruit. They have many other choices as well.
The coffee was great, and they offer flavored cream. The service was great, the food temps were prefect, and the staff was very courteous and attentive.
The prices were reasonable, and for the quality of service, the quality of food, and the atmosphere, the overall value was very impressive. Also, maybe I'm wrong - but I would swear that I saw a person on both days that seemed to be standing in a central location in the restaurant, scanning the restaurant to see if anyone needed anything - like a staff coordinator to make sure that everything was running smoothly, but much more attentive than your average "Manager". This person looked like an eagle, scanning the restaurant constantly to see if someone had a look on their face that said "I need a coffee refill" or watching when guests left a table, so it could be quickly prepped for more customers.
In summary, Eggsquisite is an amazing breakfast experience, and it was worth driving past several other breakfast offerings that would have cost about the same but failed to meet Eggsquisite's eqqceptional (see what I did there?) standards of quality and service.
Well done, Eggsquisite...
Read moreI almost hate posting just how good Eggsquisite Cafe is cuz it already gets so crowded. However, you really owe it to yourselves to check out this hidden gem & we finally made it Saturday. When we pulled up I thought well everyone on Rockwallian raves about it so we went inside. I was pleasantly surprised by the bright & cheerful atmosphere buzzing with happy customers. We had to wait a bit because it was packed. Every available table was full & remained so while we were there around 11am. The hosts were pleasant & we were soon accompanied to our table. Our waiter, Alfredo was right on point & kept our table cleared of used items without interference in our meals. Our meals came (eggsactly) as we ordered & were delicious. My chorizo omelet was not a bit greasy, like Alfredo promised, the hashbrowns were made from real potatoes, & they had herb tea. Oh, & the butter - not frozen but soft. They even have their very own hot sauce, & I was warned in advance be careful not to use too much (not a shake bottle - pours out). Good to know ahead of time. Eggsquisite reminds me of my favorite breakfast restaurant in Northern California called Morning Thunder Cafe, (except MTC has HUGE pancakes. The food is fresh, as good, if not better than homemade & will keep you returning for more. I can't wait to try their Eggs Benedict. Eggsquisite is definitely on the...
