I am writing to express my disappointment regarding a recent experience at your location that left me feeling frustrated and undervalued as a customer. After leaving the hospital with a fever of 100.4°F, I drove an hour to get a smoothie bowl Upon arriving at the drive-thru at 8:42 PM, I requested an Acai bowl, only to be informed by Vee that they were no longer making any food. I found this surprising, as a smoothie bowl is indeed considered food. To clarify, I called another Tropical Smoothie Cafe location and was told that they serve food until 9 PM. This inconsistency was frustrating, especially given my circumstances. After driving back around at 8:57 PM, I was again met with disappointment when Vee stated that they were closed and could not make a smoothie. When I asked her to confirm their food service hours, she wrote down that they do not serve food after 8:45 PM. This is particularly concerning as this marks the second time I have arrived at this location only to find it closed between 8:40 and 8:45 PM. Additionally, I was disheartened by the behavior of the staff during this interaction. There was arguing and yelling at me the customer in front of employees who were counting out the register and turning off the lights at 8:45pm about whether a smoothie qualifies as food, Vee said a smoothie wasn't food, and to contact Kush the manager over the weekend which was quite unprofessional. I believe this situation warrants your attention to ensure...
Read moreI’ve always been such a big fan of tropical smoothie since I had it back in my hometown. Today I came in and ordered a smoothie and a wrap. I got my smoothie first and sat down to wait for the rest. The table I sat at was wobbly, but I didn’t think anything of it. However, when the employee finished my wrap, I got up to take it from her and the smoothie fell and both the lid and bottom busted open. I felt awful about it and grabbed some napkins to try and clean up my mess. The employee walked away and said nothing as I apologized. She came back with a mop and said to just move the lids and she mopped up what she could. I apologized again and she walked away again without a word. I grabbed some more napkins to clean up even more. She returned again to get the last bit. I apologized one more time and of course she said nothing.
I had planned on buying another smoothie because it was good. However, with the employee making me feel like garbage because of a simple accident really turned me off. I was nothing but nice since I walked in and even smiled at her and asked how her day was. I even left a 20% tip, yet I get treated the way I did because of an accident.
So… instead of buying another smoothie, I left and went to Smoothie King and even bought my coworkers smoothies. I was also greeted with smiles and kindness at Smoothie King. I will not set foot in this Tropical...
Read moreVery poor management of problems with a delivery order through DoorDash.
Tropical smoothie was the one to blame, because they forgot to include items in my order (including straws to drink the smoothies; I paid extra for edible straws and they didn't include those or even regular ones).
But instead of owning their mistake and taking responsibility for correcting it, the solution they offered was that I had to go in-person to pick up the missing items (the whole point of ordering through DoorDash and paying more for that was NOT having to drive there) or accept a gift card in the amount of the missing items.
I still ended up with the incorrect sandwich - which my kid didn't eat because he is picky. And with two smoothies we are waiting to defrost to drink as we don't have straws at home.
But hey! I still have a gift card to eat a wonderful meal of two edible straws plus a kids' turkey sandwich whenever I want, right? So what am I complaining about? 👌🏼
Mistakes happen, we are all human. The way companies deal with them is what makes the whole difference though. I won't order food from Tropical Smoothie again, because I know now that if I experience any issues with my order I'll simply have to swallow it, because Tropical Smoothie won't move a finger to correct...
