10/2025- this was my second time here, I took some friends here for a birthday party and we had a great time. We ordered multiple items and we all tried everybody's entree and appetizers. The Indian pancakes with curry sauce was delicious, as were the Bao buns with pork belly. One of the ladies ordered pad thai, I had the Thai chicken curry, and two of the other ladies had sushi. The sushi was wonderfully displayed and delicious. They offered our friend a free small ice cream sundae which was very sweet. The atmosphere is very romantic, I recommend this place on atmosphere as well as delicious food served. Everyone had a good time.
1/2025-This is my first time stopping by Basil Cafe. It was the beginning of a new year so I wanted to have something healthier, so I picked this place to go while errand running. I ended up ordering the Thai curry chicken with pork gyoza and side salad. The salad had a wonderful pureed onion vegetable dressing, the gyoza was seared on one side with a sweet soy sauce on the side. The Thai curry chicken bowl was the Superstar of the meal. It's very big so can certainly fill you up just on its own but I wanted to try their appetizer too. Lots of fresh vegetables in both the salad and the curry Thai chicken, I was delightfully surprised and happy, it exceeded my expectations as far as the sauce. The sauce has a light spice, is creamy and has that nice curry flavor to it. It's very rich and smooth with fresh vegetables and white meat chicken. The atmosphere is above average as far as romantic atmospheres go, with upgraded modern dark wood, dimmed lights and a nice cute little sushi bar. The seats were cushy and comfortable. There are lots of options to choose from for both meat lovers and vegetarians. Overall it was super yums. Do you like restaurant reviews? I have reviews from at least 11 different states, follow...
Read moreThe lady with an accent who answers calls has absolutely no manners and is just plain ignorant and rude. There are no other words to better describe the way she talked to me and honestly I am appalled. I haven't tried the food but I don't even wanna think about trying this place anymore or recommending due to the horrific manner and lack of communication skills of whoever answered the phone.
I had canceled my Uber eats order only about 1-2 minutes after placing it but was still charged for the whole meal. I called Uber eats and was told to call the restaurant with my order number and tell them that I will pick it up and I will not be charged extra since I was already charged the whole thing for cancelling. I called the restaurant and explained my situation. The lady told me I'll have to pay again but with an attitude "if you call to make an order, then you have to pay"...as if I don't know how a normal takeout order works. This is just one example of the things she said. I was only doing what I was told by Uber eats and she could've been just a little more polite about it all.
I ended up having to do a 3-way call because they wanted to confirm the restaurant hadn't started preparing the meal yet when I canceled and the lady answered "you cancel the order - there is no reason for us to make your food." ... lol my goodness. They just wanted to confirm that the order was not started on that's all...
I usually don't even leave bad reviews unless I have truly bad experiences and I just wanted to let the restaurant know that's not how you talk to someone especially if you're the one wanting to stay...
Read moreCame here for the first time with my family. It was a Wednesday evening about 6pm but they were not busy. We were not sure why as they have an excellent selection and the decor and ambience is great.
I almost rated down because we had our kids and there were no kids menus or anything like that for them. However, our kids love Asian food and had no problem finding something they loved (pork belly steamed buns for my 6yo and Giza for my 4yo). I decided not to rate down for this as it’s not their fault I didn’t check out kid-friendliness before going.
On to the food. Mh and I were quite overwhelmed at the selection as it was rather large. However, we ended up deciding to share an array. We got the sashimi platter, the Rockwall roll, and the pad Thai. All three were excellent.
The sashimi was fresh and perfectly cut. It was also beautifully arrange and cake with tuna, white tuna, yellowtail, salmon, and snapper pieces which were also topped with caviar.
The Rockwall roll was a shrimp tempura roll, with crab on top and two difference sauces drizzled on top. This was very good but I’d try a different one next time.
The pad Thai was excellent. Perfectly cooked noodles with just the right amount of spice. Yum! And as one of MH’s favorites, it did not disappoint.
Our kids loved the pork belly as did I and the Goza dumplings were classic and perfection.
Everything that came out was so beautifully displayed. The staff was friendly and the restaurant beautiful. If you’re looking for a date night or night out with friends, I highly recommend giving...
