Let's call this review 😄 I got the to-go leftovers 😆💗👌 I was excited that my hubby was bringing home Italian food and I could just reheat it for dinner 😊👌 he said they ordered a large calamari appetizer with marinara sauce and it was really good 😋💗 and that he ate so much calamari he couldn't finish his spaghetti and meatballs nor his garlic bread 😆 so the first thing I asked him was the calamari good and he said it was great 😋💗👌 and the sauce was good too my first question though was 🤔 did they have the calamari tentacles any real Italian knows you cook the whole squid 😆👌 and there's nothing like chewing on those little legs all curled up and yummy 😆 so to answer the question he said the calamari was good but no little legs😆 okay now it's time for the taste test let's see how their garlic bread taste and let's see how their spaghetti and meatballs taste 🤔 I was hopeful... That said my father-in-law was Italian and I know good Italian food 😆 we'll start with the spaghetti sauce and noodles... They use angel hair pasta It's supposed to be spaghetti and meatballs but I guess that works 👌 I noticed the sauce was very thick and sticking to the pasta and was wondering before I even took a bite is this going to be good 🤔 to me it wasn't it tasted too much like tomato paste and not a lot of flavor... But the angel hair pasta was cooked good 😄👌 what's next try the garlic bread I reheated it in the air fryer and it came out perfect 😋💗 and then I had that first piece of garlic bread I said this is terrific 😋💗👌 I'm going to have another piece and I did but 🤔 the second piece of garlic bread I couldn't even taste the garlic it was like it was missed when it came to hitting it with the garlic butter 🤔 so all I can review is the spaghetti meatballs and garlic bread and I have to just say it was okay... As far as eating spaghetti and meatballs 🤔 oh hang on I forgot the meatballs... tastes like it were at least half bread and no flavor as far as putting bread crumbs in it whatever bread they put in it seems like they get a little carried away!!! So yeah if I was to go there I'd probably just go in and order some calamari and some garlic bread and call it a day 😋💗👌 but I probably won't because for me an Italian restaurant it's all about the sauce and if you can't get the sauce right nothing Falls in place!!! So I ate it I'm full it wasn't horrible they have five stars for the food rating I like to do a 1 to 10 rating .... As for the food I ate I...

Update again 02/04/24:

Went to eat my leftover pizza and one piece had tomato sauce on it (I specifically order this type of pizza because it has no tomato sauce) and the other took me a solid 10+ minutes to pick off all the sun-dried tomatoes I had requested be left off. After heating it up, I found a few more pieces. This is the most they've ever put on (I ate it with them before I knew tomatoes were a problem) --- I'm seriously disappointed. See pics for how many were on the pizza that I specifically asked for them to be 86-ed, as well as the slice that has tomato sauce on it. 😞

Update 02/03/24:

We still love Luigi's, but tonight was a bit of a hot mess. We asked for water with no lemons, both came out with lemons. Annoying, but not a big deal.

Next, we ordered a pizza with half Caprese pizza, but I needed the sun-dried tomatoes left off because I am sensitive to them. The pizza came out with tons of sun-dried tomatoes on it. Our server apologized, which was nice, but as I picked them off, there was no offer to have it remade (I wouldn't have made them do it, but it would have been nice to have them offer). I only have a food sensitivity to tomatoes, not an allergy, but it's still kind of a big deal and the restaurant should take those kinds of things seriously. 🤷‍♀️

Our daughter ordered a side salad for her meal, but we had to ask for it 3 times. By the time it came out, most of us were almost done with our food. In Luigi's defense, they did remove the salad from our bill.

The restaurant was very busy, so we tried to give some grace. But our server even said something about our mozzarella sticks not being all the way done (we thought so as the cheese wasn't stringy when I cut in it half --- a mozzarella stick. Lol). But again, nothing to really take care of the issue.

We still like Luigi's and will return again, but our visit was disappointing, for several reasons, tonight. 😞

Luigi's was fantastic. This was only my second time there, but the food was delicious and service was excellent. Definitely a place to come for...

We have been going to our favorite family owned Italian restaurant for 23 years. Our kids went to school together back in the day, and they are a awesome community member and business owner. As usual, we are late night diners, which is great because they stay open till 10 pm. I forgot to take pics of our food this time but will update you on the next visit. The wait staff are very quick and will immediately come for a drink order. There is another staff member that will bring a gorgeous basket of warm homemade garlic rolls. My usual go-to meals include chicken genovese, which is a seasoned chicken breast with angel hair pasta in a creamy red sauce or pink sauce. I also enjoy the pasta dish that is called "the works," which is a meatball, sausage in a meat sauce, and mushrooms with spaghetti pasta. This is seasoned perfectly and is a wonderful filling dish. I will usually get a side salad to eat with the garlic bread while waiting on my entree. The bread will keep coming quickly and drink refills offered throughout the meal. Their wait staff has always been top notched in my 23 year experience of dining . They also have a delicious variety of pizzas in different styles. If you don't see it on the menu, ask, they can make just about anything Italian. They have plenty of parking with upfront Handicapped parking with easy accessible ramps to the front door. It is easily accessed from Yelow Jacket Lane or South Goliad. They are closed on Mondays. They do accommodate large groups and have a room they can make for private events. I highly recommend this Rockwall community staple serving our community for years. I support locally owned businesses to support our community and make my choices to help our citizen...

Ordered Curbside Pickup from the main business website that is powered by Slice. Went to go pickup my order and called the restaurant for parking as there was no “Curbside or To-Go” parking spots. The girl that answered the phone handed me off to Mario who was very rude. He told me that they do not do curbside pickup and that I needed to come inside the restaurant. I told him I ordered thru the app (Slice) and it gave Curbside Pickup as an option. He then said “what app? we don’t curbside pickup, so unless you’re old or your legs don’t work just come inside bro.” I said the app I ordered the meal from came from the business's website and it offered curbside. He cut me off and said “OK. This ONE time we’ll bring the food out but next time just come inside bro.” No Mario, there will not be a next time “bro”. If you can’t talk to people with respect and decency, then I won’t order from your restaurant. Disappointing how this is one of the only Italian restaurants in the area and their staff can’t handle a simple issue with politeness and professionalism. Beyond the interaction, the food was poorly packaged and leaked out of the bag on my drive home and got on my seats. As others have mentioned, food is mid and very sauce heavy. Combine that with the rude staff and curbside delivery (or lack thereof) and it’s very much a 1 star experience.
