My family and I have only lived in this area for about a year and a half. Since moving here we haven’t really found a good Vietnamese restaurant in close proximity. Well one day while we were looking for something new to try because we have tried everything close. Well, we thought we did. We drove by Pho Garden every day on our way home from work. It was past our off ramp, so we didn’t see it. One night after work we drove over, found a place to park and went in. There was only a couple other tables that had people in it. Usually it makes me a little leery of a place when there’s not a lot of customers. So we were greeted at the door by the very friendly wait staff who directed us to our table and gave us our menus. We were blown away of the amount of choices they had on their menu. So we went with what we knew. A bowl of Pho. And OMG, was it delicious. The server would periodically check on us and refill my soda glass and my wife’s water glass when it was empty. ( A very important thing for me ) And even though we both love the pho, my wife tried the Thai Chicken Curry and it was so good as well. We have since been back several times and it is just as good as the first. If you want great Vietnamese food at a low price with top notch service, then I highly recommend Pho Garden...
Read moreNO basil for your soup? NO hours listed on web site? BOOO!!
We looked up this location because I wanted noodle soup. The web site listing does NOT publish the hours. So we went there anyway. Well just guess what happened? It was a Sunday and there was no food but the area was being deep cleaned by the cleaning service which is good to know. But we drove 25 miles to get Pho Noodle soup!! Disappointed. How much effort or consideration for your potential customers does it take to post your hours of operation on the Internet? To me this shows a complete lack of respect for your potential customers.
We were in the area another day and time, a Saturday, and stopped in. Got my noodle soup but they were completely OUT OF BASIL!! Now I ask you,m how can a Pho Noodle place ever not order enough basil? Not only that but the "kids" don't know how to run a restaurant when Moma is not there to tell them. They lean on the counter and watch the place but customer service or attention goes right out of the window until the Moma comes back. We did enjoy the delicious soup but the lack of consideration for serving the soup without BASIL and not being considerate enough to list the hours on the Internet overcame the...
Read moreWe needed a soup fix while in Rockwall, and wanted to believe there was good Phô around… We found this place at the Rockwall Village shopping mall, where all the little shops were scrunched up together. Coming in at first, the place was full of non-Asians, which was immediately sus IMO. We were too tired to find another place and gave it a shot. For starters, all the smaller tables were dirty, and it looked like they just had a rush of customers finish their meals…a good sign, maybe. We ordered their Pork egg rolls, a Chicken and Pork Banh mi, the Beef stew with French bread, the Pho Garden, plus a Kids Beef Pho since we just had lunch at a friend's place. The overall feel of each dish we tried was SWEET. Perhaps it was the ratio of carrots to meat in the eggrolls, or the rock sugar in the Pho broth, even the Bo Kho was too sweet. It reminded me more of the canned Beef Stew in my childhood from Ma-Ling.
We were hoping the Banh mi would wash away the sweetness but it also lacked pâté and jalapeños, and the expectations of crunch in every bite was absent, the bread was only chewy. The staff was very attentive when taking our orders, and food came out promptly. However, when classic flavors are missing, I would...
