As an Ohio native I grew up with Bob Evans, and my kids will never skip an opportunity to visit one when we are back home for a visit. This was one of the worst Bob's experiences we have ever had.
The staff was less than attentive and did a very poor job through the whole visit with the exception of the manager. We were seated for more than 10 minutes before the server came for our orders even though we informed the host that we were in a bit of a rush to make a flight. When she did finally come to our table she put very little effort into taking the order and did not ask the usual choices such as breads and salad dressings. A few minutes later about half of the food was served, and then the server disappeared. We found a manager and asked him to check on the rest of our order. He then apologized and delivered three more meals, but not the last one or, the breads. When we pointed this out he said we had everything that had been ordered but he would rush the rest to make it right for us. A couple of minutes later a different server came over with the missing meal and a basket of each of the breads along with the bill. Through all of this nobody offered drink refills and we had to find someone yet again for more coffee and refills for the kids.
Now on to the food. As I mentioned earlier we have been frequent Bob Evans' patrons for many years, and have visited many locations. The food here was definitely not up to spec and was disappointing. The appearance of everything was as if it had just been tossed on a plate with no care for the presentation. My omelet had all of its filling in a pile right in the middle, with nothing inside the other 2/3 of the eggs.
Overall, a less than happy experience, and we will not be back to...
Read moreWaited a total of 50 minutes for phone ahead order. Called 20 minutes prior to arrival to store, was told 15-20 minutes to complete my order. Showed up and paid for order and was then told a few more minutes. Me:"No Problem" Little did I know that the irritated woman next to me waited 45 minutes for her order. After 2 more customers that phoned ahead came to pick up their orders they were each told that their orders would be ready in 10 more minutes. After I patiently waited 15 more minutes I asked for an update on my order and was told "I really don't know when it will be ready, there are 2 orders ahead of yours (my 1 breakfast) and they won't start making yours until these are filled". The greeter was upset that she was the only cashier and person taking phone orders, I heard her mention this 5 times. No matter on that she yelled at a customer that only asked for an "update" on his order. Was mumbling loud enough for the 7 of us in the lobby that "if those girls roll their eyes at me again someone was getting messed up" I heard the "S" word several times while waiting for my "1 meal". Same woman was loudly communicating through the restaurant to various employees that were nowhere in her vicinity. Very unprofessional, and a group of 8-9 guests were at the register and she was too preoccupied(in her mind) to stay at the register and ring them each up individually, she would walk away from the register "during" EACH transaction. Yes I was told that the kitchen was also short staffed but 45-50 minutes for a phone in order that I was told would be ready in 15-20 minutes? Unacceptable.... Oh and my sausage patties were still raw/pink in the middle!! Do NOT Go Here!! I truly expect Bob Evans Corporate to get in...
Read moreI got off a three hour flight, checked into my hotel and was starving. I decided the go the Bob Evans for dinner. I arrived and the parking lot was empty. As I walked in a young female employee was cleaning the glass door and sat me down. As we passed the kitchen, a Hispanic, cook, 5’3 looked at me and made an unnecessary comment to me. I stopped and said “excuse me?”. The young lady with me told the cook “leave the customers alone”. She proceeded to sit me down. There was an older couple seated behind a couple tables back. As my waiter got my drinks. I suddenly hear the Hispanic cook and a woman (assuming the manager) yelling in the back of the kitchen. She was yelling at him that he needed to be professional in the work setting. The cook was talking back to her and was even yelling. This also included them cussing at each other . The other workers continued to work and ignored the arguing. I immediately called my husband to tell him what was happening. He suggested that I leave but I told I’ll stay because I’m hungry. For me, Bob Evans has the best whip. I order hot chocolate and water. Unfortunately, my hot chocolate did not come with whip. I was so sad. I received the food. It was perfectly cooked, so no complaints there. After I was done, I paid walked out the door. That Hispanic cook was outside in the parking lot and a white male in a red minivan. Me and the Hispanic cook made eye contact. He waved at me and smiled. I did not acknowledge. He then proceeded to say “ Have a good day, mommy” as I walked to my car. This was my first meal of the day and I was not looking for...
