Great yummy food & very friendly staff. Anyone who says they have to wait to order is crazy, there is a kiosk per table to order your food at any time. We sampled a lot since there were 5 of us, so let's review it all: Chasu noodles with black garlic oil ( broth was very favorable, the chasu pork was tender and less fat compared to most places, yummy succulent noodles, & had a 1/2 egg, corn, bamboo, sprouts, green onion, fried garlic cloves, sliver red onion, over all fantastic). F5 Wonton in chili oil, our favorite, the dish rocked in flavor and the oil not overly spicy. P1 Beef rolls, pan fried crispy succulen greatness & they do not skimp on the amount of delicious beef in the middle, even better left over and friedat home in a pan with a little oil, oh ya!!!! Mango green tea & the classic black milk tea were very refreshing, I would highly suggest getting the pearl boba in both and no crystal boba. A3 grilled squid, was very nice, not tough, good portion, I enjoyed the sweat spicy sauce, but im spoiled on grilled squid so I would also suggest they do a cilantro/lime/spicy sauce to go with it or at least another sauce for dipping too. A7 Sesame balls, oh these were bite size and very fresh, yummy, with that slight crunch on the outside, they were gone instantly. S12 BBQ pork bun, very fresh & good filling, my daughter is the bbq pork bun snob and rates this as a 7/10 and said it was good but would like it not cut open. S16 Black & Gold molten lava buns, we had to get these because all my kids are Del Oro grads. So this was very different, we thought they were OK, they were fresh & scolding hot, we were hoping for more of a sweeter inside. S4 Leek & Pork steamed dumpling, these were very good and seemed home made, not store bought, goes good with there garlic sauce & chili oil on the table. S8 Shrimp & Pork Shaomai, ok everyone liked these and thought they were fresh, cook just right and flavorful, but myself am a shumai snob and these were just ok. Yes they were good, but not my favorite. P3 Pork Pot stickers, I did not want to order these since the majority of places don't serve you good ones. But everyone wanted to get it so I gave in. So glad I did and can say these pot stickers I will be back for. Tasty, juicy, succulent in every bite. I say yes please....... So if you want something good that you have to drive to Sacramento Stockton blvd area to get and closer go here you won't be disappointed. 👍👍👍
2nd review: OK my wife & I had to go back and get the Chasu pork soup with black garlic oil, we were craving it. No disappointment there. And of course, we got the much needed F5 Wonton in chili oil. Also, we repeated the sesame balls because they are so good, and our kids wanted us to bring some home. A6 Popcorn chicken, we also got, and we were so happy with it. This chicken was very tender & moist & mouth watering. Each piece was crispy and had just the right amount of batter on the outside, not to much & not to little. P2 Pan fried pork bun we did a repeat of this too. I mean when it comes out it's heat hot and very fresh. Cut each one in half & eat the rest of your food. Save room for this because it takes a while to cool off to eat. 6 were very juicy so watch out with the first bite. The place was packed & the workers as friendly as ever. We ordered our food, and it came out pretty fast. Great visit and this is a comfort food place for us for sure....

Pros
Cons
Conclusion We like 88 Bao Bao and will be returning. This is a cute little restaurant to grab a little something quickly and off you go. The staffs were very nice. Glad that they have a water refill station so you don't have to sit waiting for someone to get you water. The foods came out...
Read moreThe place is a little small, but it was my mistake to take my family here on peak hours. I don't usually go on peak hours where the wait time could take about 30 minutes. This is the closest dimsum place where I live so far so I am glad that a dumpling place opened up so close. Our order did come out fast. I ordered the Pork Xiao Long Bao and the Pork Shiumai to compare them with the ones I've eaten at already. I must say these are as good. I want my XLBs with thicker wrapping with hot broth inside that does not have the porky smell. I must say that it is rather pleasing. I enjoyed it with their chili garlic oil and vinegar. I recommend this place, but since they just opened, you will have to be a little patient in waiting to be seated. Small groups only, about 6 max, maybe? Bigger groups might be broken to...
