After church, I asked my two sisters to go out to eat. I only had coffee before the services. My oldest stated for us to go to Applebee's in Roseville. I hadn't been to an Applebee's in over 20 years but agreed. She wanted the 2/$25, and I agreed to order with her. They only listed 3 meals and about 5 appetizers for this deal. They had others that you could order for $4-5 more. They ordered the steak and potatoes with a vegetable. I ordered the Bourbon chicken. Our meals were bland. I actually said that I felt like I had eaten a bunch of nothing. The mash potatoes were the only acceptable item that was all ate.
I woke up around 2a.m. the next day due to abdominal cramps. Immediately afterward, I had to run to the bathroom. Diarrhea began. Around 8a.m., I began sweating and vomiting profusely. I was weak by this time and tried to use a water bottle that was on my bed. ( I was trying to drink to prevent dehydration) Of course, most of it ended up on my bed due to the force. I tried to contact the restaurant by leaving a text message on their site earlier. I know it was food poisoning, and the ER will only treat your symptoms and discharge you. I had some Zofran and Lomotil and took them because by then I was vomiting bile, and the wretching was too painful. You know nurses are the worst patients who always try to care for themselves. Monday morning, I decided to call and inform staff of my symptoms in fear of it happening to others, especially an elderly. We know they can really become ill from this. Also, I told them to check their inventory because I know it was food poisoning. The manager asked if I had received medical care. I replied, " Not yet because I've taken OTCs, and it helped some. " She said that she would look up my bill to refund my money and call me back. I was so weak, dizzy, and had a bad headache. I was still experiencing nausea and wretching while trying to drink fluids. I know that I can dehydrate easily, so I asked my sister to take me to see a doctor. Also, my BP was low. She came after work. They have me IV fluids and Zofran as I knew they would and sent me on my way with instructions to follow up with my doctor for labs again. I missed getting my injection on Monday and another appointment on Tuesday. I called Applebee's and asked if they could pay for the medical bill and was informed that if I wasn't tested for food poisoning, they couldn't reimburse me. I still haven't reached my baseline. My stomach remains sensitive to food, so I continue to eat light meals. I'll NEVER GO TO ANY...
Read moreBeen there twice in as mony months. First time, waitress was fantastic. Looked us in the eyes, was polite, friendly, professional. Visited us justthe right amount. Food portions wonderful. Today march 31st. Waitress didnt make eye contact. She seemed more concerned with her other tables. Gave her my order, chicken tenders. She had a look on her face like i was joking. But ten moved on to my sister as i was asking her for a new ketchup bottle as the tables was empty. She ignored me. I asked for water as i am a diabetic and cant drink high fructose corn syrup based drinks. Looked at me like i was being cheap. She leaves and visits her other tables. She visits each of them 3 times. Ours zero. Food comes and again i ask for ketchup for the fries. Again ignored. And i looked at my plate of chicken fingers and a handful of fries. My sisters meal had three times the fries i did. I asked why is it smaller than last month. But shes walking away to the other tables. She comes by asking if we needed anything as i waved down the waitress i had last month. I said yes, ketchup please. She said ok. Didnt come back with it. Ignored me as i called her by name. So i ate my kids meals. She comes back grabs my plate. Apparently she had asked something, but i had decided to ignore her. Two of her tables left and suddenly se had time for my table cause she brought the bill. Didnt ask if i wanted anything else. I left no tip. My sister left a 11$ tip. As she felt bad for the waitress. The other wait staff was doing a wonderful job. Even the one taking out a curb side order. Was polite and acknowledged my existence. More than my waitress did. Hope i never get her...
Read moreThe only reason this review isn’t 0 stars is because the host was actually really nice. She greeted us with a smile, made conversation while we waited, and genuinely seemed like the only person in the building who cared. Shoutout to her — she deserves better. And it looks like she is the only black person in there kinda odd
Unfortunately, the rest of the experience? A disaster.
We waited over 25 minutes just to get waters. Our server was nowhere to be found, and when they finally showed up, they barely said a word. No “hello,” no recommendations — just stared at us like we were bothering them.
We ordered simple meals — nothing fancy — and the food still took almost an hour to come out. My chicken was dry and weirdly chewy, like it had been sitting under a heat lamp all day. My friend’s burger came out cold. Not even lukewarm — cold. We sent it back, and all they did was reheat the same one and slap it back on the plate.
The restaurant itself was dirty. Our table was sticky. The silverware had something crusty on it. The bathroom looked like a gas station off a highway — trash everywhere, no soap, paper towel dispenser broken.
To top it all off, I overheard staff loudly gossiping about another employee right behind us. Not only is that unprofessional, it just made the whole place feel awkward and uncomfortable. Oh, and don’t even try to ask for a manager — apparently they were “on break” the entire time we were there.
Bottom line: whoever the host is, give her a raise and a job at a better restaurant. The rest of this location? Needs serious help.
Do....
