Bennett's Kitchen Bar Market — Restaurant in Roseville

Really disappointed. With all the high reviews, I suggested to my family visiting from LA that we come here for brunch before they had to leave on their drive back. We had quite a large party (15) with 2 of the 14 being kids under 5. The food was ok, but the service was EXTREMELY HORRIBLE. The woman serving us was the worst (she's an older lady with short brunette hair). We had to wave her down and ask her if we could order drinks rather than her checking in on us. Not only that, but when we asked her, we were met with passive aggressiveness with her responding with "well I'm here for you, so yeah tell me your order." I want to give her the benefit of the doubt that she had nothing against our ethnicity or Asians in general, but she was extremely pleasant and attentive to our white husbands and attended to them first rather than our elder(s). When asking for our orders, she was asking the rest of us with a look of disgust until it came to asking our husbands for their orders. Our drinks took close to over an hour to come to our table, meanwhile, I see her being extremely attentive to other patrons who came after us and seeing them getting their drinks/food way before we did.

Food was coming out to our table before our drinks even did. To add insult to injury, she brought out a milk that my daughter ordered and asked my cousin who ordered the milk. My cousin responded with "we didn't, but..." and before she could finish answering, this sad excuse for a server responded with an aggressive "well someone ordered this milk." Then we asked if one of our ordered sides was coming out and she responded with "I would hope so." I had already finished my food when the side finally came out, so it was very obvious that she never even put the order in.

In the end, we did not leave the restaurant until close to 4:00PM. We had been there since 12:45PM. Thankfully, out of respect we still tipped her, but she either needs to step it up and MUST do better or just find another job. I'm not sure if she just pre-judged us thinking my family couldn't afford coming here, but the experience was not living up to the reviews in our case. I worked as a server for many years in college and to see how she conducted herself, it was inexcusable. As a past server, I would have never treated my guests like how she did and just wished we had a different server. We would've asked, but it seems impossible to get any sort of help or attention at this place. I definitely understand how having a big top on a brunch Sunday can be daunting, but that's why you have a team. She should probably look elsewhere if she can't even handle being at least nice and respectable to the ones who were paying.

First time being there my fiance really want to check it out we've never been to a restaurant that is a market at the same time pretty cool I I asked for a bloody Mary and I wanted top shelf vodka but they informed me that they premix their bloody mary which made me very disappointed because I really don't believe you get the right amount of alcohol when the drink is pre-made for you and it tastes horrible so I got a bourbon lemonade drink pretty tasty my fiance got Kahlua tequila coffee drink it came hot she said it would have tasted better cold and I agree as well tequila at boiling point is pretty disgusting I ordered a burger and my lady ordered eggs and bacon classic breakfast I thought it was funny when the server dropped off my burger and called it a breakfast Burger but it was not a breakfast Burger no hash browns no bacon no egg that would have been really cool but oh well the burger I asked for was rare it was a little under because when you make flat top burgers I don't think they cook as well as when you put them on an open flame grill but I still got the burger was very tasty and my fiance said her breakfast was decent but we did not like the bake and the bacon had no flavor it literally did not taste like bacon I've worked in many kitchens for breakfast and I could tell that this bacon was made very early in the morning big batches because honestly making bacon for every order is literally impossible but it was nice if it would have been a little more crunchy than chewy we ordered an appetizer which is kind of funny for breakfast but oh well a deep fried prawns with panko crust with a tarragon aioli the tarragon it only was really tasty my fiance said it could have had a little bit more tarragon flavor the prawns were good but slightly overcooked because when you cook seafood in the fryer it tends to get rubbery and chewy but it was still very tasty our server was very attentive I don't remember their name but they sure deserved a good tip which we left we really like the place we definitely want to go back and try lunch thank you for taking the time to read...

Terribly disappointed in the food and service at this location. Went Sunday night. Our 5year wedding anniversary. FOOD: Steak and potatoes bland. Muscles bland sitting in garlic water. Salmon sandwich had Terribly bitter slaw. Out of the eight plates we got only the fries and ribs we actually ate. We took potatoes steak and veggies home to season ourselves and eat. SERVICE: we made reservations and included it is our wedding anniversary. Not one person said anything to us about it. We had a waiter that had a dry/snarky sense of humor which everyone is different so moved passed. But thirty minute wait for a soda?. One of our appetizers got brought out we ate the entire plate and still no drink so Then we finally asked another server for our server and she said ohkay and walked the other way. mind you this is an open layout on the patio he is bringing drinks to tables taking orders and we are sitting there with my husbands drink only and now the lady who said she will tell him we are ready to order doesn’t. he finally comes and doesn’t acknowledge “sorry for the long wait” nothing just takes our order and says anything else I say yes my soda. At this point we have been there for a little over an hour and a half we are still waiting on dinner. When dinner comes out we are very dissatisfied and just asked to box it up . My husband asks what dessert was supposed to come with the meal the server says oh is it your birthday? We just said never mind and left. Terrible Anniversary dinner ! We are young interracial couple and we let them know upfront we are paying with a promotional gift card. Our mistake I guess.
