If you’re a person who like good food and service then this might not be the place for you. I went to dine in on a Sunday evening. The wait was about 5 minutes to be seated. Although you dine in, you still have to go up to the register to order your own food. What’s the point of being seated if I still have to go up and order my own food? You also have to get your own water that is served from a fountain and paper cups. If you want ice you have to ask the person at the register. If you choose to dine in at the bar, be aware that you will get an automatic 18% gratuity added to your bill. They also charge a 3% charge if you use a card, so it’s best to bring cash. I had the seafood boil with shrimp, crab legs, boiled egg, sausage, corn, and potatoes. Overall the food was ok. Their house sauce is a little on saltier side. It tasted like butter, lemon, garlic, and salt all blended together. While waiting for my food, I could hear the employees cursing and talking in the kitchen loudly. The food took about 10-15 mins to arrive and I had to get my own gloves because the server didn’t bring the ice bucket w/ the bibs and tools over until I had already started eating. I also had to get up to go to the bar and order a drink because they do not bring them to your table. Your food and drinks are not placed on the same order, they are two separate orders. Once I was ready to close out my tab, I had to wait another 3-5 mins just to pay the bill at the bar. I’m not sure if they were short staffed this day but the service is severely lacking. I always tip no matter where I go, but this place made me feel as why should I tip if I have to do everything myself. If anyone decides to come here, I recommend you bring cash and order all your food and drinks right away. I don’t see myself returning due to the...
Read moreI hope my kids don’t see this because they enjoyed this experience today 10 times more than I did so I just smiled through our lunch because I know that they were happy. Our bill was $180. I got two of the seafood bags. I can’t remember which ones they were but after we ordered and paid for our food, I got on Facebook while we were waiting for our food and I saw that they had a special going on for lunch today from 12 to 3 for the exact same thing that I ordered, but I think one of our dinners came with four cornbread pieces I think that the person at the register could’ve mentioned that there was a special and we could’ve saved 50 or $60 by doing the special instead of what I had ordered so that was a little bit Disheartening. The girl who greeted us I’m not sure what her name was, but she was amazing so super nice. Our food the potatoes were good, but the shrimps were really chewy in both of the bags. The potatoes in the bags were good. We had the everything sauce that was pretty good cornbread was really good. The crab seemed like it was overcooked because it was really rubbery. I wanted my kids who are 17 and 27 to enjoy the experience there because this is something they’ve both wanted to do so I thought I would surprise them And I did not want to complain about anything in front of them and take away from their experience. I’m just a little bit upset because I spent $180 when I could’ve cut that cost in half Especially for the quality of the food that we got. and it’s my own fault but it was our first time there so I was just ordering according to what I thought I knew...
Read moreOrdered 2 bags over the phone. Shrimp, mussels and veggies. Went in to pickup during opening week.
Verdict: Worth a 2nd try. Has potential to be a mainstay in NWI. Needs to be able to handle large volume of people a little better.
SERVICE: Call in orders should have a designated pickup line/terminal/ area for customer convenience. Waiting inline for 15-20 mins for an online order w people who are also waiting to place an order an order and be seated is gonna be havoc on Fri Sat and Sundays. Move 1 terminal to another side of the bar to process online orders and take out.
Our phone order was messed up but kudos to the manger that made it right! It took an additional 35 mins but still she made it right
Wait staff seemed friendly enough considering how busy they were so no complaints there.
FOR MANAGEMENT: Live music is great BUT if your employees can’t hear orders because it’s too loud or customers are fighting w the band to be heard u may want to rethink.
FOOD: Flavors are good. Veggies are fresh and seafood was on par w other Boil Bag places. I can usually do HOT but their Hot is prob closer to Very Hot so beware. Didn’t see any alcohol on tap, so maybe it’s coming but something like that should be present for opening weekend.
ATMOSPHERE: Decor is nice for the type of restaurant. Lights not too low. Restaurant is well put together. Save the bands and live music for AFTER u have the kinks worked out. Focus on the quality of the FOOD and SERVICE and CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE...
