Thoroughly impressed!

On this particular cold, dreadful Valentine's evening, we decided to treat ourselves to Poke-Man for the first time.

We ordered a salmon and fried rice hibachi, tonkatsu ramen, three different teas, and a smoothie. All of it was simply gorgeous. Generous portions came freshly prepared and packed with care. The drinks were almost too pretty to drink! I really appreciate the cups they come in. They're just the perfect way to transport such drinks. No lie, we ordered bubble tea from one of the other places once and it arrived in a totally flimsy cup which had exploded in the bag, apparently.

The salmon was perfectly cooked, the fried rice was on point. Don't even get me started on the yum-yum sauce. My sister said she enjoyed her ramen.

Definitely the best bubble tea in town that I've found for sure. We will definitely be back here, and I wish I could shove more food in my gullet because I can't wait to try the poke...

Been a while since I’ve spent time in Merrillville, so I made it a point to try something out of the ordinary. POKE-MAN is a lovely stop just off of US-30 that has a myriad of different options to create your own dish. Personally, my bowl was comprised of: tofu, tofu skins, sweet onion, jalapeƱo, red onion, red cabbage, shredded carrots, sweet corn, bell pepper, shredded nori, and green onions. That’s only a small sample size of the massive list of choices, with options as uncommon as snow crab or BBQ Eel.

In terms of drink, they have milk bubble teas, fruit teas, and the fruit slushies, to name a few. I had the Strawberry Fruit Slushie, which was absolutely heavenly after a long day on my feet. The consistency of the slush I would attribute as a blend of a smoothie and a slush, to give a sense of the feel. Very nice drink.

With easy, healthy options like this when I’m out and about, I can definitely see myself coming back next time I’m...

Food is amazing. Amazing enough I'd make the 20 min drive here to try it. However, when I looked online it said open and when I got here it was closed on Mondays. I came back on a day they are open and I told the woman working the register and she was very dismissive and even that I suggested she'd have it corrected online, she said, "hours are on the door" I think I speak for most that they don't want to make a long drive just for it to be closed. Then they have a new machine you order off and after I finished doing the machine order it wouldn't let me go the the next screen and she says it works but I show her it isn't and she just says for me to come order at register. So why have it? I go to order and hse just tosses a menu at me and says for me to.write it down. Sadly I won't be back. Good food but customer...

This has become our mid-way stopping point for dinner when making the road trip back home to the far west Chicago suburbs from Indianapolis (we are a group of 4). Staff and service are good, and food is fresh and prepared well. Restaurant is strip-mall-small size, but works great for to-go. Ambiance is pretty much like a school cafeteria, but clean enough, there's enough seating, and it's well lit. They have a great setup with the automated ordering stations, where you can select exactly how and what you want in your poke bowl, pay for your food, and then wait for them to prepare and call you when ready. They also have a punch card available, after 10 bowls you get one free- nice deal! Parking can be tight as it is shared with all the other businesses in that strip. This was our second visit, and we'll likely be back.
