EDITED: The general manager called back and said they had an issue from the IT team so that the updated times weren't on the website.
All restaurants are having staffing issues now, and you can't make IT do something, so I'd hate to not acknowledge that they did everything they could.
(They did also offer a refund, although I didn't ask for one.)
Basically, mistakes will happen for everyone when you serve a lot of people, but they did all they could to make it right. I did appreciate that.
ORIGINAL:
The store closed early (7pm instead of 9pm), but I received no notice/call they were closing before 9pm that day. So when I arrived to pick up the food at 7:40pm, the restaurant had closed there was a sign on the door saying they were closing early that day, and I could not receive my order.
I didn't really need a refund: Stuff happens when staffing is tight. But when I called the next morning to ask about it, the person who answered said "Ok" as if there was no issue and there was no point to the call.
If that is the normal order of how they operate as she implied,
I would suggest online customers to call after making online orders to make sure they will be open, especially after 5pm. You are not going to receive any notice if they're closing early that day online, and it will be on you if you don't arrive before their earlier, unlisted closing time. It appears to vary based on staffing: you won't know until that evening.
I wouldn't have even called if I made the order, say, at 8:50pm, I got there at 9:01pm, and they were closed. That would have been on me. I wouldn't have even called if I knew they were closing early either by website or if someone called me. I should have gotten there on-time.
Neither was the case here.
Still, the food is always on-brand McAllister's, and it's always hot. By no means are all of my experiences worth 1-star. Usually, it's great.
I just can't feel good about paying for an order I couldn't receive and not being given notice that the store was closing before their official...
Read moreThe food is great. The price is amazing. The staff basically are terrible. We only go on Sunday and they are always rude and uncaring. More often than not they are short with you. If you ask questions they often snap. There is a lot of unprofessional talk between the kitchen staff and the front of house staff. Today was the final straw for us. We walked in and stood at the counter and had to wait 2 minutes for the server to finish a personal conversation with another server. There was no one else waiting. Then the server rolled her eyes and waved vaguely at the board when my husband asked what sides were available. He asked another question and got the same response. Her attitude was terrible. Honestly made us feel like we were interrupting her day. While we were talking to her ordering, kitchen staff was hollering at her, again about personal things, not work related. We were taken back by the loudness of it and they laughed when they saw our reaction but did not apologize. Server basically threw our meals on the table when they came. Half the tables were still dirty even though the place was quiet. The gentleman next to us was asked if he wanted anything with his soup and he asked for crackers. After 10 minutes he got up and went to the counter to get them himself. Overall I would rather go to a different location then go back to the Roswell store. It’s seriously horrible. Not because of the food. But because...
Read moreUpdate: call ahead? Been going to this location a while and today I walked in, the place mostly empty, but the two employees behind the counter were slammed with to-go and pick-up orders. I happened to drive by and decided to grab a sandwich. A customer rudely interrupts my order complaining about an online order. As I sat here it tons of people came in for online orders, majority had some sort of mix up. I got my order in about 10 minutes. I still love the food but waiting in line with invisible people or customers barging in is challenging. I feel bad for the employees, maybe this online ordering thing is a little too much. I almost wanted to tell a customer to treat some respect. Technology and food are not working well here. Wow, they remodeled again! I’ve been going here for 8 years cause their sandwiches are the bomb and seen three remodels, this is a premier store! I asked the staff and learned Mcalister’s is testing two new store models, this is one of them! All for the big farm table look going around the north side. The midtown store I heard has a more trendy feel with vibrant colors. Love the Roswell Accents. And don’t be mistaken, this place serves deliciousness. The potato salad is so good. Love the Orange Cranberry Turkey, but Long live “The Patriot!” It’s like...
