Carrabba's Italian Grill — Restaurant in Royal Palm Beach

I went here expecting a lot from the price but I had a lot left to be desired, the atmosphere is decent, would be better if everything else was better but it wasn't. The service was not that good, it wasn't terrible but I was actually shocked at the ineffective training the servers get put through, they have learn how to speak Italian yet some dont know what sweeteners are, I can tell the person serving me was trying so I wont rat them out but because of the menu I got the impression the server was there to get me to order more then I actually wanted. Essentially just there to sell me stuff, the reason I get this impression is because of how poor the menu is, even the server struggled understanding the menu because of how vague and misinterpretable it is, especially with its specialties that says it comes with a side upmarked and my dish the eggplant parmesan comes with a side as well yet I was told I only get one then the server appeared to try to make me pay for the extra side that is supposed to come with my meal according to the menu. This is simply, very poor management and menu design, so I dont blame the server that much, even if they were just trying to use the vagueness of the menu to sell me more stuff. Personally I dont go to restaraunts to try to figure out a menu for the restaraunt because thats what I had to do coming here which is just untactful to its customers, made me feel quite upset that I had to deal with it. Another flaw of the discount they try to do which is pretty pointless overall because they make a profit anyways while the quality of the food is to low to consider the discount, is that its only for entrees that you can spend 10$ for it as long as its equal to or less than the entree you originally got, now why wouldn't this count the calamari, or the collection plate with the calamari that is literally cheaper then what I had to get instead because well I might as well with a server who keeps trying to sell it to me the pressure is real. Now this could all be justifiable if the food was good, but it wasn't, again I had the eggplant parmesan and it tasted alright, not the best not the worse, but it made me sick, like brutally sick, I had to spend hours in the toilet after this, I dont know if the server didn't like me and did something or if the chefs just didn't prepare it properly but how was I the only one who got sick from it, its strange. Either way, this place is definitely not worth its price, even with the discount and the snake oil salesman experience, this place was not worth its price and the quality was simply too low, it seemed like they understood that I was going to write a bad review and tried to reconcile it with a free appetizer after ordering an entree coupon, but funnily enough I would have considered it if they even handed it to me in the first place, they gave it to nearly everyone but me. Sunday-8/24/25- A very hot afternoon shopping and decided to enjoy some lunch at Carrabba’s! Love their Bar area! Very comfortable cushioned bar stools. A/c is perfect! Not too cold and the TV’s have sports on.. what more can you ask for.. Always a warm welcome and service with a smile! Jacob was our Bartender extraordinaire and he was amazing! Helpful, personable and informative! What a great relaxing lunch! I ordered my Riesling with ice on the side. I received the delicious bread - olive oil and my wine quickly. He is an extremely efficient professional! We had a nice conversation.. I’m trying to work my way through their menu so I ordered a delicious salad! The “Johnny Rocco Salad “ with Shrimp and extra Gorgonzola! OMG! I enjoyed the delicious bread and olive oil dipping sauce. Then the huge salad arrived! Wow! Definitely shareable! I couldn’t believe there were 8 large grilled shrimp! A great value! Absolutely delicious! Jacob informed me about the $10. Special which was tempting but I was taking half the salad home and that would be enough for me. To be honest- I don’t know how Carrabba’s does it but all of their team members have been extremely welcoming, friendly and professional! Smiling as though they are happy to be there and are enjoying their jobs! The lunch experience for an older widow is one I look forward to.. I ordered the sautéed spinach in olive oil and garlic and the Four Cheese and sausage stuffed mushrooms (I do think this time they forgot the Four Cheese but it was still delicious) So much flavor and so fresh and delicious. I combined them and they were so yummy!! Piping hot and offered freshly grated cheese! Yes, please! I also ordered their house white wine which was very good - cold and crisp! The restaurant has a warm and inviting vibe. As a widow with challenges and a service dog - I feel comfortable eating alone. I live in the area and every now and then when you think of a chain restaurant you think, "Consistency." So on a night out and about, we decided to choose to eat here. We brought our dog and decided to sit outside. The night we were there, it was not even remotely busy. We sat at a table directly to the right of the door, in which we were seated by the hostess. While we sit there, 7-minutes goes by and we have not been acknowledged. I go inside ask for a server and I was told they will be with me momentarily. 3 minutes later my server appeared as I will refer to him as, "Absolutely no personality server." We knew what we wanted and gave him the order in its entirety. To be clear it was an appetizer and two pasta dishes. We run out of our drinks, so we sit and sit and sit waiting on Mr. Personality to show back to our table. After 33 minutes, I went inside and inquired as to where our appetizer was. Approximately 8 minutes later a manager brought it to our table. I inquired as to what was the delay, why is there such an issue, why is his server not paying us any attention, and where is the disconnect. The manager would not give any reason as to what was going on except that he had to rush our stuff because of the delay. We asked him about the delay because he had the entire order when we sat down, which again the manager could not answer. The food comes directly on top of the appetizer, which I hate that. You order an appetizer to have it spaced out from your meal. In the end, there was no true apology from management. We had to chase him down to not only get our check, but also pay him.

In the end, I have been here before and had good service, but it has also been some time since I have been here. If I am deciding to visit an establishment and give them my money, at least they could do would be able to give me service. At the end out of all this, I figured that the way the server acted as a reflection on the management team. The manager was less than engaging, did not even remotely offer any assistance for the issues we had, nor did he correct issues while he was with us. We left our of there unhappy and feeling over unappreciated.
