I spotted El Camino Nueve after leaving the Ruidoso Tattoo Expo and thought I'd give it a try. I selected to eat on Patio as the weather was beautiful. My waitress was very friendly, personable and attentive. Food wise I ordered the pork carnitas with double beans no rice, and also had a order of complimentary chips and salsa. The green salsa for the chips had a wonderful taste, and a decent but not to hot heat. The pork carnitas were tender and well seasoned. Beans I could've used actually a little more considering it was doh le but nonetheless they were good. Now the star takeaway is for the red sauce served on the side of the carnitas. It wasn't bad, not spicy, but it had a bitter after taste. I know red chile has a little bitterness to it, but it was more bitter than I usually taste. In any case it didn't ruin anything for me. I mostly used the rest of my green salsa on it. I would likely stop in again if I'm in the area.

Favorite so far! They are very servicial we had an amazing experience. Me and my boyfriend are hispanic and we love the food out there but we wanted to have a traditional margarita. A nice older man told us about this place and how the have there own tequila “el camino” originally made by them and we had to try! We arrived 30 min before closing and we still got served fresh warm food, the waiters were on there A game and any time we had a question over there drink menu the bartender and the boss himself were there to provide us with the best service. If you are around stop by! We recommend the watermelon margarita and the cucumber with there special tequila. Salsa is also delicious, Great place in New Mexico! We will be back soon

Chips that were continuously served were very Stale, to the extent that I could hear it in the crunch when my daughter took a bite. Unfortunately that was discovered AFTER ordering Queso. The Queso was very runny as if mixing Velveeta and Green Chile stew juice. And Alas the beans were runny on our dinner plates as well. Wouldn't say that I feel this was worth my money and I'm quite disappointed with my Experience.

Terrible service and terrible food. We had a group of 5 and when we arrived we were asked if we'd like to be sat in the front area or in the bar and we decided in the bar since there were tvs. We proceeded to walk to our table and thought the waitress (who we found out later was the owners sister) would follow us with menus however we ended up seating ourselves. We sat there for almost 10 minutes before we finally had to ask the bartender if we could get menus and if we had a waitress. He ended up bringing us menus and taking our drink orders along with bringung us waters. The waitress who initially greeted us FINALLY showed up with chips and salsa which was about 15 minutes after we had arrived. The chips were stale and the green salsa was terrible. We asked to order queso and guacamole which then took another 15 minutes for them to return with what tasted like canned food, it was absolutely terrible. When we asked to speak to a manager we watched the lady tell her we were requesting to speak with her which it ended up being the same person who greeted us and again it took her another 10 minutes to even come to our table. When we told her our complaints she was rude and only offered the excuse they were busy and running behind. We told her we could see the entire restaurant and there was never more than 5 tables occupied and those tables were sat after us and being served there food before we could even order ours. We asked to cancel our food orders and were taking our business elsewhere and all she did was offer a rude smirk and say that's fine. When we left we watched them from our vehicle laughing and mocking. Anyone who's ever worked in the service industry knows this is not how you treat customers especially from a management position. I guess this explains there previous reviews and why they had no business on a Saturday night when the rest of the Mexican restaurants were packed. We took our business to Casa Blanca and had amazing...

Ok, I’m m sure the folks that work there are great folks….. please, learn from my mistake, don’t eat here. The food is outstandingly horrible. Everything tastes like it was literally seasoned with nothing but garlic, and I swear they mix Parmesan cheese in everything because that was all I could taste (when there was flavor). Seriously, this isn’t Mexican food. If you want Mexican, your better off going to Taco Bell. They use the wrong cuts of meat for their fajitas and they are seasoned with NOTHING. There was this cool thing they did with the Queso, warm on the top and ice cold on the bottom while tasting like water. Also, the cooks either can’t read or they are color blind…. Order green chili sauce and it gets delivered to you RED. I couldn’t even finish a 1/4 of the food that was ordered, it was that bad. This “Mexican food” has committed a crime to all other Mexican food, it’s an insult to Mexican cuisine to even try and call this Mexican food. There isn’t enough beer on earth that could make this food taste good. Seriously, taco Tuesday at the local jail has better Mexican than this place. It was so bad, i left my 3/4 full plates on the table and went to McDonalds to wash the ick out of my mouth and rumble from my stomach. If a government official from Mexico had “Mexican food” from this place, they would send a drone from Juarez to bomb this place and erase it from the earth for its insult to the Mexican culture and people.

Please, save yourself and your family from the most horrific dining experience you will ever have.

You have...

If zero stars was an option, that's what this place would get. Let's start at the beginning... called two hours ahead because we had 16 people. We still waited 15 min to be seated and were split up. We then order our drinks... two guys ordered beers that were hot when they arrived at the table and one person had to ask two additional times before getting her soda. 20 min after being seated we had to ask for chips. At this time, the waitress takes our orders. Don't think about asking for fajita chicken if it comes with ground beef because they do not do substitutes, even for an additional charge! After ordering, it takes another 10 min to receive our chips and salsa. They only serve super spicy green salsa so they kids only snacked on chips while waiting. Finally the food comes... worst Mexican food ever! The fajita beef tasted like cube steak, the cheese enchilada had a tsp of cheese in them, the taco meat didn't even look edible, the tamales tasted like they were made with corn bread, and I could go on and on. Horrible! I'd like to add if you ask for more chips for a table of 10 they put a handful of chips in each of the two baskets they gave us. Then the bill comes... and although it was posted no where, they added a 20% gratuity to the bill. My father-in-law, who complains about nothing, asked to speak to a manager. The managers response was that we're just not used to their kind of Mexican food because we're from Oklahoma! Seriously? We have ate at many Mexican restaurants around the country and this place was by...
