So here’s my experience. Decided to start the weekend with a fine dining and thus, we chose Bombar Bar and Grill. We started with a some drinks like coconut cosmo, tropical mango, cantaloupe martini and Jasmine breeze. Honestly speaking they were okay, I will probably walk down to street to the cabin to get fine cocktails! Coming to the appetizers, we ordered Bombay samosa which were different in taste and yummy. I doubt I have tried the same in Sacramento area before. Pakoras were fine too. Then we ordered Chicken Tikka Kebab as Tandoori speciality and guess what, it was delicious. Loved the preparation. Now coming to the main course, we ordered paneer tikka masala, lamb masala, yellow dal and garlic naan. They were prepared perfectly. Enjoyed having them and probably will ordered again next time.
Now, coming to the service. Service was quick and nice. However, the lady who took our order was very pushy and indulging. We were just scanning the menu and in no time she came to check if we are ready to order, yet we ordered appetizers before even looking the entire menu. Having said that initially we were planning for appetizers to enjoy before jumping to the main course, but she had asked us if we are ready for the main course order at least 3-4 times in 10-15 mins of time, even before we finish our appetizers we were asked several time we are ready and trust me that was annoying.
Second thing, generally it happens curry comes with rice on the side and if we want we can order more, however that lady mentioned it does not come with rice. But when the food arrived and server who served us the food he served rice as well. We said we didn’t order for the rice to which he mentioned don’t worry it comes with the dal and curry. So, wasn’t she aware of this? Weird. Only because of her continuous indulgence we wrapped everything within 30-35 mins where we planning to enjoy for some more time.
Only the suggestion, let the diners dine according to the way they want but not by continuously bugging them if they are ready to order. When they are ready they’ll order. Also, we definitely appreciate your suggestion and recommendations, however, what are we going to order it should be...
Read moreWow! Just wow! I had lunch at Bombay Indian Restaurant on 21st Street today, and it completely blew me away. We went on a Sunday around 1:30 pm. Midtown was crazy busy because of the marathon, with streets blocked off everywhere. But thankfully, we spotted Bombay's sign and decided to give it a try. What a fantastic decision that was!
From the moment we stepped inside, we were greeted with warm hospitality. Our hostess and server, Sulu, was an absolute delight! She was so incredibly kind, patient, and helpful throughout our entire meal. Sulu truly went above and beyond to make sure we had an amazing experience, offering fantastic recommendations and ensuring we had everything we needed.
And the food? Oh my goodness, the food! We had the chicken curry, veggie samosas, and the potato/cauliflower dish (aloo gobi, maybe?). Every single dish was bursting with flavor! The spices were perfectly balanced, creating this incredible depth and complexity. It was spicy, but not overwhelmingly so. Even my mom, who usually shies away from spicy food, was absolutely raving about it! And my picky daughter? She cleaned her plate without a single complaint!
I also have to mention that they have a fantastic selection of vegetarian and vegan options for both appetizers and main courses. It's so refreshing to see a restaurant that caters to everyone!
Honestly, I can't say enough good things about Bombay. The food, the service, the atmosphere... everything was absolutely perfect. I give them 5 stars and can't wait to go back again soon! A huge thank you to Sulu for making our lunch so...
Read moreIf I could I would have given 0 stars to this place This review is just based on the customer service. We were standing in the line for more than 10 min , the waiter came out, saw us, didn't even respond , went to the back of the line gave table to 2 customers standing behind us and started walking inside without talking to us, when I called him he says that there is no table inside and we can sit outside if we want. Somehow not sure if it was just my feeling but felt that he was being racist(again personal opinion or feeling may be something else ) We got the table and as usual no one came to take our order for more than 10 min. Spoke to the waiter and asked to see the manager. He never told the manager, I stood near the reception waiting for the manager, finally when the manager walked out of the kitchen, went and spoke to him, he is the biggest irresponsible and unprofessional guy who simply brushes off by saying they are busy and they don't even try to get feedback from customers. I had to just walk out and they were like "ya sure". WORST RESTAURANT I have been to ever till now and would definitely not recommend this to anyone. Things could have been completely different if manager was professional enough to at least listen to our concerns.
P.s May be funny to others, but the waiter took the order of the 2 customers whom he gave the table and also was asking them as to how their samosa was while we were still waiting hoping he would take our...
