I normally don’t have issues with their service but tonight I was really disappointed. I understand it’s the dinner rush and it’s taco Tuesday. I’ve been raving to my bf about this place, about how good it was. It was his first time here. We ordered 8 tacos and some asada fries. We luckily found a spot to sit and waited 40 minutes before anyone came and ask us if we were okay. I had ask the server if he could check our food and see what’s going on. He checked and told us that it was being worked on. 20 minutes later, we still didn’t have our food. We watched all the people after us get their food and leave. The table next to us got serviced and their food immediately even though they ordered after us. They got helped 3x, while also getting more tacos. Mind you we haven’t even gotten our food yet. The table next to us were real buddy buddy with the servers. After a whole hour, not getting our food and no one checking on us. I went back in and asked for a refund. It just wasn’t worth it. I’m so disappointed in this place. If you can’t attend to 8 tacos and some fries then you need to re-evaluate your business strategy. I felt that since I wasn’t friends with any of the servers, we were ignored and forgotten. It would have been better if they would have just came out and apologize and own up to forgetting about us. I have recommended this place to so many of my friends and family. I will not be...
Read moreSeems that this is the spot to get a breakfast burrito fix. Matter of fact when I was here to get lunch today, someone was ordering up a breakfast burrito -- in the afternoon!
Next door to Zelda's, I always wondered what this small hole-in-the-wall place was like. Feeling adventurous, I thought I'd check it out for a lunch burrito - as opposed to a breakfast one.
The low ceilings and fluorescent lighting make for a dreary ambiance. Tables are close together and the bathrooms are spitting distance away. This would be the perfect set up for someone who is recovering from a bad hangover: breakfast burrito + close amenities.
I have had better carnitas burritos. Heck, even Chipotle makes better ones! On the smaller side, none of the flavors screamed out to me. Chips and salsa cost extra, the bill came to less than $5 though.
I noticed amongst the drinks in the fridge were Coronitas - baby Corona beers for $2 apiece. Note for future lunch during workweek: I think I could get away with imbibing one of these babies and not smell like...
Read moreWhat a perfect way to end your night...or start your morning. Jalapenos is a great spot to get some authentic Mexican food when you're out & about in the area. First pro, the food is amazing. Second, the staff is amazing. And third, they're open late! There is indoor & outdoor seating but do not fret. The outdoor seating has a beautiful California bear mural on the top of the building, and there are heaters outside to warm you & your friends up on those cold nights. Prices are pretty decent and they have specials! Their maza even taste good on its own (my mouth is currently watering). Oh & yes, there are public restrooms here for you to use. My friends & I stopped by after a long night dancing & drinking & celebrating & it was one of the best decisions we made. & the cashier was so sweet. I had a side conversation with my friend, Shane whose birthday it was, and she even sent us out churros because she overheard the...
