Let me start off by saying that the workers here are so attentive. My glass was never empty. They came by periodically to pick up empty dishes and asked if we needed anything. The sushi chefs, Yudi and David, were super accommodating and very funny. We sat at the bar and I reccomend if you guys want to have a good time to request to sit at the bar.

All of the dishes were fantastic. Watching them prepare each dish made my mouth water. We had a lot of their specials which were breathtakingly delicious. We started off with the Ankimo (not pictured), which is monkfish liver, and that was melt in your mouth amazing. It had a paté type of texture to it but it was also super creamy. The taste was unbelievable. It wasn't fishy at all and was paired nicely with the sauces that came with it. Next up was salmon which was paired nicely with avocado and chili oil. Surprisingly it worked well together and wasn't spicy at all. Up next was Hirasu, which is baby yellowtail. It was just paired with nigiri sauce. Next up was Managatuo, which is Pomfret. It was lightly cooked and had a meaty texture to it. It was paired with nigiri sauce and pickled wasabi. Next up was just tuna paired with nigiri sauce. The next dish was Otoro, which is fatty tuna belly. It was flame torched and paired with asparagus, tobiko, and various sauces. Next up was the Dynamite Giant Clam which was baked surf clam with the house yummy sauce, tobiko, and green onions. The clam had a bit of a chewy texture but it was also very soft. The house sauce was creamy. The green onion and tobiko added a nice crunch to the baked dish. Up next was the Hamachi(?). It was scored into squares and lightly brushed with the nigiri sauce. It was soft and melts in your mouth. It tasted wonderful even though it was so simple. Next up we had the Aloha 916 roll. We got that one mainly because it had shredded pork on it and we thought it was be an interesting combination. Surprisingly it worked out amazingly. It had spicy tuna in it and the shredded pork mellowed out the spicy tuna. It was different and I have to give them props for trying out something new. We finished out the meal with BBQ Albacore. It was topped with various sauces, tobiko, and green onions.

Overall everything was exceptional. The food, the workers, and the ambience. I would definitely come here again and will be for sure telling all my...

To start off, the food was good. But this is one of the worst customer experiences that I've had at a restaurant in a long time. I purchased the $80 restaurant gift cards that Costco sells. Spend $80, get $100 for select restaurants. Otoro was one of those select restaurants.

I've been wanting to try Otoros for a while. I brought my father, who was in town for the day to try this place with me and my girlfriend. As we were getting ready to pay, I gave them the two $50 cards as payment, only for the waitress to come back and explain to me that they don't take that form of payment. I go to the website that clearly states that their business does, and she tries contacting her manager (that wasn't at the restaurant) about the issue. She comes back only to tell me that they can't take the cards and I have to pay for the $100+ meal.

So I pay, and asked when the manager will be in. I was told tomorrow evening. Fast forward to today, I go in with the two gift cards, receipt, and the debit card that I paid for the meal with. They already knew of my issue and the manager told the associate that they do take that form of tender (the gift cards). Despite this, the manager tells me that they cannot refund the money back to my card and use the gift cards as payment because the "credit card company will charge me $25 to refund my payment to your card." I politely replied with, "Not to sound like a jerk, but that's not my problem." Because their staff isn't properly trained, I was out $100 and they were unwilling to correct a problem THEY MADE.

Instead, their solution was to give me $20 dollars cash. This solves very little as they have lost a customer and essentially stole $80 dollars from me. Not to mention, they're willing to give me $20 dollars cash, but not pay the $25 dollars to refund my card and use the $100 gift cards...

Now, money isn't the issue. It's that they are clearly unflinching with making the customer happy. I will not go here ever again and will deter any friends that consider this place to...

Great spot! In midtown near all the major late night drink spots that actually closes after 9pm!! Their 11:30 closing time is great to catch a late dinner before a night of partying.

I got their bento box with sashimi and nigiri choice (4 pieces each!) that was fresh, tasty and perfectly portioned. For $27 it was a steal given the amount of sashimi and nigiri that came with the plate. (Plus miso soup, salad and paired with a side of rice.) My partner got their spicy ramen and their chashu was delicious. They actually grill the sliced pieces before putting it in the bowl and let me tell you it's the perfect blend of savory with a touch of flame. I even got to try their soft boiled egg and it was the right consistency for me. The yolk just solid enough to not be runny but soft enough that it was still silky smooth and full of flavor. I also enjoyed the touch of sweetness the egg had, it played well with the umami from the soy sauce.

Staff was really nice and helpful when I asked questions about the menu. Will definitely keep coming back to this spot. They also have a full bar with a great choice of imported beers and exotic drinks. Definitely recommend to stop by first on your next...

We came here at 9:15pm starving after a live show, there was maybe 2 people inside the restaurant. We sat down and no one came to get our drinks for a good 15 mins. We ordered drinks appetizers and water. Alcoholic beverages here are disgusting I repeat DONT GET THE COCKTAILS. Our waitress disappeared more than half the time. Appetizers were sub par. Wings came out with no sauce?? Just fried? Lmao so weird. I’ve never not finished a cocktail even if I didn’t like it bc I’m not wasting $15… but these were so horrible my friend and I couldn’t even sip it dude, so gross. Waitress noticed we didn’t sip our drinks or anything and she still charged us?? I shouldn’t have to complain like a Karen, be helpful and attentive or no tip. Simple as that. Only good sushi roll was the lion king roll. We wanted to leave so bad we had to flag down a couple waitresses to try and get our tab. I’ll never come back. 0 stars

I've always seen this place driving by and wondered if it was any good, and I'm happy to say it was delicious! Food was great, looooved their chicken yaki udon stir fry as an entrée. The spicy edamame has a nice little kick to it, makes for a great appetizer. The spicy Ramen definitely was spicy, but what was nice was that the spice didn't linger, it was a fleeting feeling of a burning sensation only to slowly wear off moments later. If you're wanting to change things up from your usual midtown spots, I say check out O'Toro and give em a try! Also! Our waiter was so helpful and did a fantastic job of explaining the dishes, the host was super nice too! Overall great experience with the staff!
