Where Did the Chef from Sacramento Chao Ji Go? 😭

Went here with a group of friends at opening for lunch. Walked up to it with delicious smells of meats in their smokers outside. Walking in, we were greeted by the staff with such enthusiasm! Service was quick and friendly and the environment was clean and gave off a rustic look. I ordered pulled pork and brisket with dirty tots and onion rings on the side! All the meat on all the dishes were so moist and tender! The pulled pork was especially juicy! When I ordered the brisket, I asked for a fatty piece and they didn't disappoint! It was rich and heavy and tender to the touch! Their BBQ sauces were also great and helped cut the richness of the meats while adding different flavors. The dirty tots were my favorite! The tots were crisp and the cheese sauce was incredible! Topped with pulled pork and BBQ sauce, it was a delicious mix of salty goodness! I also had a bite of some of my friends foods. The T-Man sandwich had the same great brisket and BBQ sauce with onion rings. It was basically my dish in sandwich form! I also tried some of their baby back ribs and they did not disappoint either! They were full of smoky flavor and tender to the bite! The dirty mac and cheese was also a standout for me. So much cheesy goodness with delectable bites of chicken! I would say this is probably my favorite BBQ spot on Sacramento! I absolutely would come back for the great food and enthusiastic service!

I visited this establishment on Saturday evening. This place was recommend, please note that I did look at the reviews before I went and ordered from here. The initial thought was it’s a small but busy place and I which in my mind seems like the food would be amazing. I had to wait in a line for about 10 mins or so to place my order due to the overwhelming amount of people in there which is good for business. I placed my order at the bar, the staff were pleasant and friendly.. A+ for that. After placing my order, I found a seat to wait.. Here’s the tricky part… I had no clue the food would take all my life to be cooked and come out to my table, but under-stably it was busy and it’s a small business with big crowds. I had ordered the frozen peach rose which was absolutely delicious. Once the food came out after 45 mins, I was happy but a little disappointed. I ordered the half rack of baby back ribs, dirty Mac, and onion rings. The food was worth every bite, seasoned perfectly and not tough or overcooked. The only downside is the food was cold. To have waited all that time and it still be cold was disheartening but I would still say it was worth it and I would highly recommend anyone checking this place out, just be sure to pack your patience.

Great place for some amazing bbq downtown. Can't believe I haven't been here before. The cook on the meats was done by a true expert, perfect smoke rings, phenomenal flavor, and a great outer crust that wasn't burnt a bit. My hats off to Tony. I ordered the meat treat combo tray. Ribs, brisket, and two sides. for tge brsket i went with tge cross cut which was the absolute best blend of fatty and lean, i would recommend this to anyone who doesnt yet hace a favorite. For the sides I chose corn bread and Mac n cheese. The mac was fun and inventive, certainly not close to traditional by any stretch, but the flavor was better than average. When it comes to cornbread I know there are different schools of thought. Tank house does a drier cornbread in a muffin style and served cold. Not my preference, but it might be yours. As for service, I sat at the bar on a Tuesday @8pm. Dave, who is an owner, was at the bar. This guy doesn't know how to stop. Not one person in the dining area was wanting for anything so long as he was there. I was thoroughly impressed. Everyone should try this place at least once, who knows, you may just find your favorite bbq place like I have!

First time here at the Tank House and the ribs were AMAZING! When you arrive in the tiny place you have to order from the bar - it's a little awkward. The place is so small that folks can't get by you if they're trying to get a drink or a napkin, but once the food arrives (which is quick!) you don't care if you have to sit on the floor. We had the meat platter: 1/2 a rack of baby back ribs, half of a chicken and two sides. We picked tater tots and Mac & Cheese. There is no sauce on the ribs, but the dry rub is awesome! The chicken has a spice rub, too - Very good. The meat is tender and juicy, lots of flavor. The two BBQ sauces on the table...not great. One is very sweet with no depth. The second is vinegary with a little heat. Not great, but not bad either. The Mac and Cheese was very good! The tater tots weren't anything to write home about but they do have something called "Dirty Tots" with all kinds of fixings, we may have to give it a try. I'd give them five stars if it wasn't so awkward to order (there was only one menu that everyone in line had to share it...ugh.) But go for the ribs!!

The best brisket I've ever had. Years ago I had the best brisket, and now I've amazingly found something better. I could eat the brisket all day. The dirty tots are also really good; their pork is delicious and the tater tots are great - not oily like you often get many places. The cornbread was alright, the mac and cheese were unfortunately a little bland, definitely taking the lowest spot in the meal. The chicken was pretty good, but the leg/thigh were a little too pink for me. I'm not sure if they were undercooked, but the fact that I wasn't sure made me a little nervous. We had two beers - the Anderson Valley Summer Solstice (cream ale) and the Fieldwork Brewing Caribbean Queen (tropical sour) - and they are now two of our favorite beers. All of that said, I would absolutely come back, and immediately order more brisket and stuff as much as I could into my face. People here were all very nice and the service was quick. It was a little busy but definitely not packed for dinner on a Saturday, though Google reported that it was busier than normal. Definitely eat the brisket.
