On 8/9/25, a friend and I had breakfast at Roc & Sol Diner. While we were pleased with our meal, we were dissatisfied with the service. On our table, there was a flyer advertising that patrons could download the Roc & Sol app, iPhones and Android users, and save $5 on their meal. In an effort to take advantage of the discount, my friend and I attempted to download the application. I, an iPhone user, was successful in downloading the app, but my friend, an Android user, was unsuccessful. We expressed the issue to the server and she took the issue to management. The manager came to our table and proceeded to give us a lengthy explanation about the problems that their business was having with Android. We pointed out that the flyer clearly stated that the discount applied to Android users. If the restaurant was aware that there was a problem, the flyers should have been removed the tables. I then asked if she would still honor the discount because it was not my friend’s fault that the download would not work. She vehemently refused to honor the discount for my friend. Given that I was able to download the application, she stated that would give us the discount we needed because it is $5 off per table. Again, another issue with the promotion. Nowhere on the advertisement did it state $5 off per table. We were under the impression that we would get $5 off per person who downloaded the application. In short, the manager was unhelpful and she did not handle the matter in a professional manner. It is my hope that the diner has since removed the flyers from the tables. I will not be returning to the restaurant and I do not recommend patronizing Roc...
Read moreI had the pancakes and berries. The pancakes were hot and tasty. The stack consisted of 3 pancakes, and the pancakes filled the platter that they were served on. The service was great. The waitress was around me, often asking me if I needed anything and always with a smile. Sitting at the counter, I saw the dishes that the other customers were ordering, and the portions also filled the platter. The building was newly remodeled from its former incarnation of being a "Waffle House."" As such, the environment was fresh with music playing in the background while you were eating. I have tried the Eggs Benedict . It came with two English muffins on the bottom. The next layer was a quarter pound plus ham steak that was topped with 3 poached eggs, and on the side were half a platter of well cooked hashbrowns. The portions are a lot of food that is properly cooked and delicious. Today, I had the French Toast, and it had that homemade taste that many restaurants lack. On March 12, 2024, I had one of their sandwiches, The Rainer. I found d it to be rather skimpy on the meat ans vegetable part of the sandwich. Actually, I must say that their breakfasts are far better than t heir sandwiches. If you are looking for a good sandwich place, I would recommend Dad's over them. But I would stay with them for their breakfasts. On December 11, 2024, I had Joe's Special. It very delicious and served piping hot. It came with an order of hashbrowns that took up half of the dinner platter and served with 2 large slices of...
Read moreTo say nothing of the service, the food is mediocre but at least it comes in big portions. When I approach my waitress to try to get my dish remade, after explaining my original expctations it is highly unprofessional for a staff member to tell me that I am wrong for having wrong expectations. Specifically a woman named Alisha continuously gave me a hard time, talking back over and over to me, when I explained that I expected my eggs and gravy served separately with my plate of biscuits (the menus doesn't specify how the eggs are served). Alisha insisted I was incorrect for expecting the eggs to come on the side, and further insisted that all other restaurants serve eggs according to this standard. They agreed to remake my eggs, but a bit later she told me friend I had been yelling about my dish (??) and that she had no problem remaking it in the first place ? Confusing, because if she had no problem remaking the dish, she would have taken it without talking back to me and without trying to make excuses for the discrepancy between my expectations and what I received. Instead she escalated the conversation with every comment I tried to make, and she would not stop insisting that I was incorrect. Upsetting to be triggered in the middle of a restaurant, do everything I can do keep my cool and advocate for myself, and still get treated like the scum on the bottom of the managers shoes. Not coming back but it's alright because they...
