This review is written solely because of their poor customer service. I just had a terrible experience at this place. I live a block over & I decided to try something new today. I initially walked into the WOL market just to see what was there. I love seafood, so the Fish Face Poke Bar immediately grabbed my attention. I spoke to the worker at the register & explained to him that I had never been there before & I asked if he had any recommendations. I told him that I've never had a fish salad, so I was thinking about getting a roll just to be on the safe side. He recommended I get a salad instead, & told me how much he loved it when he first tried it. Nonetheless, I agreed & ordered a small salad for $10.50.
I ate one small spoon full of the salad & instantly did not like it. It tasted awful in my opinion. I understand many people enjoy fish salads here, so I just want to reiterate that it didn't soothe my personal taste buds. Moreover, I asked the man at the register if I could have a roll instead because I didn't like the salad. He said, "one second." I saw him walk over to speak to a woman, who I later learned was his manager. I assumed that he was going to come back over to my table with a roll, but he never came. I waited a few minutes then went back to the register & waited in line. Once I got to the front, he directed me to his manager. I explained to her that I didn't like the salad & I only took a small bite. I asked her if they could work with me & give me a roll instead (which is $6 cheaper) or simply give me a refund. She refused to do either. She told me that I would have to buy the roll & that "[they] don't do exchanges." I tried to explain to her that I was unsatisfied with the food & merely wanted to get my money's worth. Her response was, "If I take it back, we're just gonna throw it away." At this point I was frustrated, & still very hungry, so instead of arguing with her I decided to walk down to Burgers & Brew, where the customer service is...
Read moreExtremely refreshing!! I tried poke for the first time a few days earlier in Hayward CA. on a business trip. Immediately after I checked on yelp to see whether there was any good Poke restaurants in Sac. I was delighted to see some decent options. I took my wife and I to Fish Face to share the experience with her. As I was waiting in a fairly long line, I was looking at the menu and what options they had. I noticed they charge for every additional add-in condiment which gets pricey very quickly...ie...$1.50 to add avocado per bowl, or .50 to add pineapple. This was not the case in my first experience. The cost was about double what I paid for it in Hayward, and that was foregoing some add-ins I would have like to added. Despite the expense, my wife and I love fresh food, and proceeded to pay for the $50 bill.
It's a bit of a wait to get the food, as there was only one preparer.
The food was no doubt amazing, and my wife was extremely grateful for the delectable experience. The food was so fresh, I had no need for...
Read moreI have been wanting to check out Fishface for some time and today I was downtown so... It was everything I had hoped it was with the exception of the atmosphere. In this case that's not a bad thing. I was under the impression it was a single establishment and not so much a cafeteria type setup. Don't let that misguide you. Everything was clean and orderly, the service was exceptionally friendly and very helpful. My food was prepared nicely and the gentleman even recommended no soy sauce but yes to ginger and Wasabi. This was a great recommendation with the poke bowl I selected. Yuzu Albacore: Albacore tuna, jalapeño, cilantro, fried garlic, yuzu ponzu & sesame oil. It was an outstanding dish! I loved the flavors as they waltzed among the rice with hits of jalapeño and garlic. I pulled in the ginger and Wasabi every now and then for a splash of palette cleansing and sweet heat. This was an experience I will remember and I must return to take in the other offerings. Stellar...
