A great park is a signpost of a thriving community and Roosevelt Park is one of Sacramento's best. This small park effectively serves it niche in the community by offering basketball courts, softball/kickball fields, and yes, even an outdoor gym. Not all parks need to be elaborately grand. It is best to evaluate a park on whether it is used and valued by it's community, and in that regard, Roosevelt Park covers all its bases. It's utilitarian, egalitarian, and just plain fun. Roosevelt Park offers a space for people to interact with each other and actually be a community. The people that frequent it are very friendly and welcoming. It's safe and peaceful, even so at night. I just hope that this review helps contribute to making this park even better.

Went to the park for the Sac Fry Fest. It was a fantastic event in a very nice park. The seating was on the basketball courts which you could tell had been very recently re-paved.

Got some new kinda workout contraption. Looks pretty useful. Saw 4 people working on it . At noon some soccer goes on. And basketball afternoons.

The best place for outdoor basketball in Midtown, hands down. Ever since the city and the Kings refashioned the surfaces, lines, and hoops, no location comes close in terms of access and quality, both of the courts themselves and the players present. This location presents the best combination of talent and rim softness on an outdoor court in the downtown area. Awesome...

This is the place in downtown to kick a ball, swing a bat, or take a jumper for 3. There is pick up basketball that is always going and the baseball field has formal games most afternoon and evenings. They just installed a brand new basketball court and workout space. If you're going to enjoy a game then it's perfect walking distance to a half a dozen bars and...
