While it is our choice to drive 40-45 minutes just to get a taste of this place, I can say that it was not worth the trip. It's not because we had a bad service or we found something on our food, etc. It's not worth it because it tasted just ''okay''. My boyfriend is half Japanese and we both came from Hawai'i which has a lot of Japanese authentic ramen houses. I guess we just got used to seeing and knowing that when you open a ramen house, you're expecting the whole staff to be Japanese but that is not the case here. We're surprised that almost all of them ( we think ) were Chinese, and that's odd but of course, we don't know if the owner is Japanese or not.... ( just to be clear, I'm half chinese and NO I'm not being racist ). The service was fast and they were friendly. The taste of the food, however, is just okay. The soup doesn't taste that rich and savory. The noodles looked like top ramen noodles ( that's not what kind of ramen noodles we know ). The other components is alright, as well as the takoyaki and karaage. This place could use more of the authentic components of what a real ramen noodles look and tastes like. If you live far away and want some ramen, I'd look else where. It's not the worst place though.

My go-to ramen spot for years, staff are always very helpful and accommodating, atmosphere is great for any occasion, food is very tasty and often makes me feel like I didn't just stuff down a huge bowl with double noodles. I've tried most of the ramen here and I can recommend every single one. Spicy varieties aren't overpowering with spice, noodles are always perfectly firm, and each type of broth has their own distinct flavor profile so you can always find something new. My girlfriend loves the takoyaki here considering most other places don't put bonito and the fixings on top. I come by any time of the year, very satisfying during the winter with hot ramen, and the tsukemen is always a summer favorite. I must say the most satisfying meal I've ever had here was a bowl of miso ramen, a half order of pork fried rice, and a bottle of Sapporo. Would recommend for quite literally anyone considering they have a vegetable ramen as well.

Ryujin Ramen is the best Ramen House in Sacramento. Period. It's a small shop, larger than traditional ramen stalls but still keeps the traditional vibes. It's always hustling and bustling with people trying to enjoy great ramen at even better prices. Their broths are absolutely amazing, they've tasted different every time I go, but in a good way. One flavor is deeper than the other, or today's batch had a richer taste. It's consistently delicious but it keeps varying the minutae of deliciousness. I haven't yet had their cold noodles, but all the hot broth ramen has never disappointed. Especially when you get a few extra eggs and extra noodles. It makes for a whole heart meal that you can take home and have as a second! Even though the base portions are ridiculously big and are two meals in their own right. I love their appetizers as well. My favorite is their garage and croquettes. YUM.

My friend got black garlic ramen with pork broth I got veggie ramen and asked for tofu to make sure i get protein. I tasted the black garlic ramen and the main flavor is roasted sesame oil which is delicious. I’m not sure why they don’t have more veggie broth options or why they don’t make a version of black garlic vegetarian since the main flavors are garlic and sesame oil. The veggie broth didn’t have much flavor so I asked for hot sauce. I think they should add tofu to their veggie option since all their other ramen bowls have large portions of meat or at least have it as an add on so people trying to be healthy can meet protein goals and have a more filling entree. I also feel the broth wasn’t good needs more seasoning. We got Sake that was delicious! The service was quick and attentive. If you’re veggie or vegan there are some options but they aren’t the most delicious.

I’ve been here a few times now, and it has been consistently good. One of the better ramen joints in Sacramento, but I’m always on the lookout for good ramen. I got the black garlic oil tonkotsu this time and subbed tan tan instead of pork loin. The pork slices are tender enough, but I wanted to try their tan tan. It was really good! I like that you get the meat in every bite, but that’s just me. I wish they let you pick the spice level like traditional ramen places, but I just got a side of chili paste and made it to my liking. The serving is definitely enough for 3 meals for me, and it tastes just as good the next day, if not better, after the noodles soak up some of the broth. For $15 a bowl, it came out to $5 a meal, so I’m happy about it. I’ll keep going back to try some other items on the menu.

I've had pho most of my life and have had bad previous experiences with ramen restaurants where their broth tasted like water. However, I decided to give this place a try and wow, the ramen is fantastic!!! I ordered the black broth tonkatsu with red broth. They allow a 50/50 mixture which was great. Service was friendly and extremely fast! Within two minutes my ramen was ready. I always taste the broth first before eating any noodles dishes and the broth was spot on. Best of all I'll never see ramen the same way again as before. I'm definitely going back. My only complaint is parking. It's in a small shopping center next to Safeway so parking is tight and very crowded. Also this restaurant can get busy really fast as soon as they're opened.
