Safeway Pharmacy — Local services in Sacramento

It’s already a miserable experience to go into this Safeway but the pharmacy itself is so terrible. I had to visit this pharmacy 4 times before finally getting my medication and every time they were at the very least uncaring and sometimes flat out rude. I always try to speak kindly to people and still, one of the employees seemed on the verge of yelling at me, rudely saying my insurance had denied the medication saying, “call your doctor because it’s not our problem”. Two days later after doing nothing, thinking I don’t even need those meds, I start getting hounding calls, telling me I need to pick up my prescription, as if I hadn’t already tried 3 times. Plus, all of their over-the -counter items have to be retrieved by a very busy employee. I could go on about all the things wrong with this pharmacy and the bigger societal problems that it’s a symptom of but the bottom line is,...

On two separate occasions, I've told security guards at this store about pools of liquid on the ground that are hazardous and put customers at risk for a fall. Both times they took no real action to resolve the immediate danger. Falls are devastating for the elderly. You don't need training to place a yellow warning sign or papertowels on water.

So what do you prioritize, Safeway? Stolen beans or customer safety?

Safeway is also just a horrendously expensive chain of stores that charged extortionist prices during the pandemic for low-demand items just because they could blame the circumstances. Die in a fire, Safeway - you're an immoral plague on society and I will never tell...

Been going here to use their pharmacy for I’d say about two years now. I love the big silver statue out front that’s very welcoming and the store is clean and always has armed security out front. It’s a short walk from a ton of little shops and food spots and is in a really gorgeous part of town. I’ve taken my dog with a few times and right behind them is a very cool Bark Park (always packed so make sure ur dog is ok with crowds) and had a ton of fun.
