I'm immunocompromised, so I wear a mask to protect myself from getting even more sick. The second I stepped in, I noticed the staff staring at me, and the energy was just... off. I tried to brush it off, but when I got up to order, the interaction felt unnecessarily rude. I placed my order, and the woman behind the counter snapped, “I can’t hear you.” I raised my voice and repeated myself, and again—“I still can’t hear you.”
I hesitated, but ended up pulling down my mask just so she could understand me. She laughed and rolled her eyes. I honestly felt unsafe doing that, especially while I’m already vulnerable. There was zero empathy, no effort to meet me halfway—just this dismissive attitude like I was a problem. The whole thing left me feeling uncomfortable and disrespected.
I wouldn’t go back, and I definitely wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone who’s immunocompromised or just expects basic human...
Read moreI really enjoy studying here. It is a neat small spot on the corner. I think they have the best Iced Americanos of any coffee shop I have tried. That is my go-to order (with heavy cream on the side). All the bartenders are really nice, but I think the guy with the cool mullet is the nicest and makes the best Americanos. The seating is really comfortable, especially the stools, unlike the one at Temple that is guaranteed to give you back problems. It gets a little crowded at times but that is okay, I always manage to find a seat. I just wish they opened later in the evening as many students like myself need a nice spot like this to study, but we are forced to go down the street to crowded and loud Temple after 6PM to study for a...

I respect the seriousness of reviewers to give a thorough & *personally honest review of an establishment, but I absolutely cannot see how this place could EVER get less than full stars. The coffee & the pastries are unlike anything you'll find in this city...and we have PLENTY of coffee shops. Among them this one stands out. Hand crafted only begins to cover it. Both the coffee & eats here are exquisite. The staff is kind & attentive, the building is quiet, clean, and open late (providing a safe work space when there are truly none available).
It would be an absolute tragedy for this spot to close. I hope it stays & becomes a staple here in Sacramento. When it comes to coffee shops, this place is a...
