The best chocolate -and icecream - in Saint Augustine.

We went to Saint Augustine for our wedding anniversary and we found Claude's chocolate right across the street from the Flagler college. We tasted Whetstone chocolates and they weren't bad. Claude's chocolate were amazing. We usually buy chocolates from other places (other countries) and these chocolates are one of the best we have ever tasted.

Mrs Debbie is a sweet heart and she is super friendly.

About the ice creams. Oh my goodness!! We were able to taste the ice creams she had available and choosing one was the hardest thing, because they are all delicious. I got caramel ice cream and raspberry ice cream. My husband got the pineapple sorbet (this sorbet has a little basil and the flavor is out of this world). All the flavors were amazing. Truly amazing.

Please, go visit Mrs. Debbie at Claude's chocolate. You won't be disappointed. You can't visit Saint Augustine without visiting Claude's chocolate! I can't wait...

Incredibly disappointed. We told the clerk several times that I have a hazelnut allergy and cannot have any chocolates with liquor in them. We asked about the ingredients in the cinnamon praline specifically and were told no hazelnut.

She either lied to make a sale or doesn't know how to check an ingredient list.

FYI for other hazelnut allergies, the cinnamon praline chocolates DO have hazelnut. It's actually listed on the insert they provide with each box.

The others must use some kind of chocolate liquer as a base because they REEK of it.

I can't believe I wasted money on chocolates I can't even sample. Stick with Whetstone or Kilwins if you have food allergies. They know exactly what's in...

The chocolates are amazing, and I highly suggest the Shiny Mango or possibly the Dark Raspberry. The details and tastes of the chocolate were amazingly intricate. By far the best chocolate in St. Augustine. Although the person behind the counter (Who I assume was Claude) was a bit rude, but that didn't bother me. I could tell she was a bit stressed because she was working by herself. She may have just been having a bad day, which I understand. So I wouldn't take any part of my rating away for that. Again, amazing chocolates as well as Popsicles. Oh, don't even get me started on those. They're so good! I had gone to Claude's and Whetstone. Whetstone can't even compare to how amazing Claude's...

Update! I visited St Augustine for the first time at the end of Feb 2025. i made a point to go to Claude's and let me say it is a beautiful charming store that has a french vibe to it. I sampled many chocolates and they were wonderful. Their signature hot chocolate was amazing. Deb who worked their was is marvelous She told me the history of the store and was so kind. Would recommend this place and when I go back I will visit again, I ordered some chocolate and it was excellent. Fast service. Their login on their website was having issues so called and they took care of me. Debbie was great! A+ on customer as service and great chocolates. They made their way from FL to Buffalo NY.

Our group happened to stumble into Claude's after a quick tour of Flagler. We weren't expecting much and we were absolutely floored. Huge variety of chocolates, very fair prices, and the nicest staff we encountered on our trip to Saint Augustine. Claude's has a whole range of flavors and, while some may seem funky, they pull them off with subtle hints of the accent flavor that don't overpower the high quality chocolate. Some of our favorites: mimosa, gator, mint, hazelnut, salted caramel. (Also, bonus points on attention to detail, the gator flavor - dark chocolate filled with chocolate ganache - had the imprints of gator scales on the chocolate).
