My son, his friends, and I decided to try a new place to eat today. We have heard about Firehouse Subs, but never have we eaten there before, so we decided to try this place out! It's a quaint little sub shop. I enjoyed looking at the firehouse decor in and around the restaurant. We stood in line to order our subs and were waited on immediately. The menu items were easy to understand and simple, so we were able to decide right away what wanted without feeling confused at all! Some menu's tend to be a bit overwhelming at times, leading to a lot of questions. This wasn't the case here! Simple, direct, easy to read menu on the walI. I must say that we got served rather quickly. It didn't take very long and we were all eating our sandwhiches. I was very full off a medium-sized sub sandwich, but the boys all got a large sandwich. 🥪 😋 They offer hot or cold sub sandwiches, chips, other sides, and dessert if you want. I would say this is a good place to stop if you are in a hurry. The food is good here and comparable in price and quailty, to other sub shops. They were completely out of meatballs, which is apparently one of their signature item sandwiches. My son's friends wanted to try that one, but they chose other menu item. we got a steak and cheese sub instead. (It was more like chopped roast beef to me), but still, the flavor was good! This place is a quick "in and out place" to go with a fairly large amount of tables and a pleasant atmosphere. I did make a trip to the back area where the bathroom was, and there I found the real treasures on the walls!! Old antique pictures of fire departments of long ago! I mean old pictures. Very cool. I enjoyed looking at them all! I thought it added a bit nostalgia, and I loved all the pictures they had up on the walls back there. The restaurant itself was very clean, including the bathrooms. That has always been something I look for when I'm dining out because It makes me feel more comfortable eating the food when the...
Read moreI never leave reviews. Ever. But I have to say something about the sandwich I just tried to eat from this location. It's lunchtime during the work day and I had to eat something quickly before my next meeting. I ordered a medium Club on a sub, I order this every time I go to Firehouse so I know it very well. Normally this is toasted first so the cheese is melted on the meats then topped with the lettuce, onions, mayo (I got no tomato). I ordered it to go, so when they handed me the bag, it was a generic white "Thank You" bag with a white styrofoam meal box, not the traditional Firehouse branded bag with the brown sandwich box. Not to sound picky, but that's just how I knew something was off.
I get to work, open my box and stared at my sandwich for a good couple minutes. The bread wasn't toasted AT ALL, the lettuce was brown and soggy like it had been sitting out for a few days, the bottom half of the sandwich was soggy for some reason (maybe the lettuce?), and there was MARINARA smeared all over the tops of the bread almost like they started making a meatball sub but instead of starting a new sandwich they dumped the meatballs and kept the same bread. Obviously something that does not go on the club.
After reading some of the recent reviews, it sounds like this has been a big problem lately. Is anyone going to do anything about this? I just feel like you're going to lose a lot of business and it's sad. This was the closest one to my office, but now I have to drive farther if I want Firehouse because I will not be dining at this location again. I do not do brown, soggy lettuce. I truly am not looking for an apology nor do I want some canned response, what's done is done. I would just like you to know and for something to be done about it so other people don't get stuck paying for sandwiches like the one I just...
Read moreWalked in and thought it was closed at first. I could hear the two employees in the back talking. I should’ve just left instead I didn’t which is my fault. The female employee came out and just stood at the register didn’t say a word I asked if she was ready for the order. She just nodded, placed our order I think the only English she knew or chose to say was the total. Didn’t ask if we wanted drink, chips, or if we were dining in or takeout. For being empty you would think the dining area would be clean and stocked. You would be wrong just like me all the tables had trash on them the drink machine doesn’t look like it was ever cleaned and the straws and napkins were almost fresh out. After 10 minutes for 2 subs the male coworker came out and was immediately glued to the other coworker whispering to each other. Finely after maybe 12-15 minutes the sandwiches were done and by that they were overly done. Bread burnt, tasted like they had been sitting out but I saw her make them. Mine was missing bacon and the other sandwich had next to no sauce on it. Idk who is in charge of that franchise but they may want to either restaff or close shop. For the price of what we got which is 1 small sandwich, chips and drink and my medium sandwich and drink it was $21. For the service, food, and dirty environment I think I’ll go elsewhere. This is a poor representation for the firemen and first responders this chain...
