WHAT A WASTE OF A COMBINED $100 MEAL. THAT'S WHAT WE PAID FOR THE WORST SERVICE I EVER EXPERIENCED! THIS IS THE WORST TEXAS ROADHOUSE I HAVE EVER BEEN TO. DO NOT GO HERE GO TO O'FALLON! We went with friends to dinner last night and they didn't get one thing correct for our party of four adults and two kids, except maybe one of the kids meals was right but nothing else was.
To begin, we had to wait an hour outside even after calling ahead for seating above the estimated 55 minutes of time we already waited. Next it was another hour to order. Then about 30 minutes late one person in our party was served only their entree before any of us were given a salad. Then THERE WERE BITS OF OTHER TYPES OF FOOD ON TOP OF THE COUNTRY FRIED STEAK INSIDE THE GRAVY THAT YOU COULD CLEARLY SEE WERE NOT PART OF HIS MEAL. WHEN HE TOLD THE WAITRESS HER COMMENT WAS 'NOW WHAT IS WRONG' WITH AN ATTITUDE EVEN THO THIS WAS THE FIRST ISSUE WE HAD AT THE TIME. WE NEVER SPOKE RUDE NOT RAISED A VOICE BUT THE WAITRESS DIDN'T WANT TO BE BOTHERED AS WE WERE TOLD AHE WAS BUSY DANCING. HE WAS SERVED AHEAD OF EVERYONE BY 15 MINUTES BEFORE WE EVEN HAD OUR SALADS. THEN IT JUST KEPT GETTING WORSE! They finally brought out salad with dinner and the one who was actually served before everyone had to wait another 20 min for his to be remade and still he was served his salad at the time of the regular food. Then they could not even discount or offer anything else to fix this until we had to ask. After that they instead discounted the wrong party. So of course the took both out check to fix while only discounting the salad and nothing else they then added the other parties check to include the 4.99 they accidentally put on the wrong check after they gave a card to pay them wanted them to pay at the table for the higher bill. Any reputable places at that point would not have corrected the wrong check after this experience but Roadhouse sure did. They should be embarrassed by this. It was a waste of time and money for all. To make it worse, at that point the other party with us had paid the higher price anyway but I asked for a manager to report this issue. Manager said they can't offer refunds if they paid at the table and not with the waitress who had her card and actually returned it with the higher price check at that time the manager only said that she can't refund it so she gave her a free appetizer coupon that clearly means nothing because we won't be back. It was even worse after that the manager actually said she didn't want to offer a refund after claiming she can't issue refunds and said that she can issue refunds but she doesn't like to since will take 14 days to refund it. Once again, all excuses. They never apologized for the entire experience and just said it was a busy night. It was absolutely pathetic. Mistakes happen but they gave excuses after excuses just blaming the cook or another waiter. They never should be allowed to serve anything to anyone with an attitude when you dare to ask why there's large bits of a foreign substance in your food. If you go there don't expect anyone to apologize or do anything to make up for subpar service, DON'T EXPECT TO HAVE A GOOD TIME, DONT EXPECT TO GET ALL YOUR FOOD TOGETHER, DONT EXPECT TO BE BILLED CORRECTLY and DON'T EXPECT THE MANAGER TO CARE OR, DONT EXPECT ANYONE TO CARE WHEN THEY SERVE YOU VERSES YOUR PARTY AT THE TABLE OR WHAT ORDER THEY BRING THE FOOD OUT IN WHATSOEVER! It was appalling!
I have been eating at this restaurant for years but heard it was just a joke anymore and I now see why everyone is boycotting this location and going to O' Fallon instead. This place is not worth the time, GO TO ANY OTHER LOCATIONS OR RESTRAUNT INSTEAD. EVEN THE WAFFLE HOUSE ACROSS THE STREET WOULD BE BETTER and that's saying a lot! WE STILL TIPPED AND PLAYED THE ROLE OF CUSTOMER CORRECTLY BUT THEY DONT PLAY THE ROLE OF SERVERS OR MANAGEMENT OF A...
Read moreSo this is going to be a weird review, but it’s relevant. We came here tonight to celebrate 18th birthday. Party of seven. Had dinner. Food was great. Server was great no problems until I realized I left my jeep key at the table.(didn’t realize until we got home unfortunately) My husband quickly goes up there we live in proximity so not too far of a drive but still annoying.
He’s on the way there. I tried calling the restaurant ahead of time (granite they’re very busy) Texas roadhouse is always busy so this is the norm.
I thought maybe I could respond to the text that was given to me when I joined the waitlist earlier and hopes somebody would see it to inform them that I left my key fob. No dice.
After being transferred a few times, I talked to a young gal not sure what her role was there told her that we were just there we left 30 minutes ago. I left my key fob on the table. Can you go check to see if if anyone turned it in? I provided my name and number and she said she would call me if they found them. Again, they were busy so I understand. Literally, my key fob is a keychain and even it has my name on it.
Long story short, my husband gets to the restaurant they’re not found and apparently he had to dig through bags of trash like a homeless person to find them.
I’m sure it was quite humiliating for him doing this in front of all the other customers but due to the circumstances, he did what he had to do. Sure enough found my keys (thankfully) about 3 trash bags in but my question is the person who cleans the tables off instead of turning them in, just threw them away and discarded them? What if this would have been a wallet? Or it could’ve been anything lipstick, compact, in this case was an important key fob/keychain.
Is there not a “lost & found “ protocol?
It would’ve made it a lot easier granite this is my mistake by leaving it on the table, but typically when someone leaves something behind, it gets turned in and no big deal. I assumed it would’ve been found either on the table under the chair or possibly in the parking lot, but I never would’ve thought they ended up in the trash so quickly. Especially a car key like that. Just seems careless.
If my husband would not have went up there tonight, this would’ve been a big problem tomorrow this is my only key. My other one was stolen and had to deactivated it last year.
So long story short again either they were really busy or just didn’t care. I don’t know either way that’s what happened in hopes this will not happen to someone...
Read more[Update] The owner did reach out but stated that it was not against the law to reheat the eaten steak at grill since the high heat should kill everything. And, it might not be uncommon for restaurants to do so. Still, I disagree and stand by my comment. While the owner didn’t consider they did anything wrong, the owner still provided a gift card which I accept (given that it was less than half of what we paid for, but I still appreciate the gesture). I want to support local businesses and I am saddened that we cannot agree since I did enjoy the several times I visit. Ultimately, I feel the owner do care and that along is worth of a star. Given everything, I have updated the overall rating to 2 stars.
[Original Review] It really saddens me that I have to write this because we have had great experiences in the past, but not today. It was super super busy and we had to wait for a while. However, I joined the waitlist through the app, so it was not that bad. There were 4 of us (2 adults and 2 kids) and once we were seated we ordered 2 ribeyes and 1 prime rib. First, the good: the service was excellent and the lady was attentive and super nice. This was the only reason why I still give 20% tips even though we had a bad experience on food. Now, the bad: we ordered all our meats medium rare, and the two ribeyes were rare when they came, so we returned them. Later, to our surprise, we didn't get new steaks. Instead, we got our old steaks reheated with a lot of charred parts on the outside. This is UNACCEPTABLE. You NEVER reheat the steak due to the risk of contamination and this was the reason why I had to write this review, hoping the owner see this and make sure it won't happen again.
At the time, we didn't want to make a scene and we did eat some of the steaks because kids were hungry (which was a mistake). After we got home, all of us, including kids, had stomachache and you-know-what later. Like I said, we always had great experiences in the past at this location and this is a first time we had this happened. However, it goes without saying, we won't come back again knowing the...
