We recently tried Banana Blossom a second time after a mostly disappointing experience when they opened, and we had a relatively similar experience.
During our first visit, the restaurant was pretty packed. The service was inconsistent, and the decor/atmosphere appeared unfinished. When we ordered our food, the spring rolls were clearly not fresh and had a mushy texture. The yellow curry was pretty bland, but the Pad Thai had an interesting BBQ flavor to it that we both enjoyed. We ultimately decided that maybe they just needed time to tighten things up a little.
Fast forward to about 3 weeks ago, we decided to give Banana Blossom another shot. This time, we arrived to a completely empty restaurant where we weren't greeted when we walked in. We rang the little bell, but it still took about 5 minutes for someone to come up and greet us. We noticed that the decor seemed much more filled out, and the restaurant looked a lot nicer than our first visit. After being sat, we ordered the appetizer platter, Pad Thai and yellow curry. Since the restaurant was empty, we heard the kitchen complete our order, but it took an extra 10 minutes getting to us because our server appeared to be casually talking on the phone at the front of the restaurant while kicked back in a chair. When we got our appetizer platter, we very quickly realized that the spring rolls were the exact same mushy pre-frozen rolls that we had in our first experience. The crab rangoons, pot stickers, and coconut shrimp also tasted like they came straight from the frozen section at Walmart, which made us really disappointed that we spent close to $13 on it. The Pad Thai had less flavor this time, but it was still passable, just nothing special. The yellow curry however was much better than our first visit, and tasted much more flavorful.
Overall, we were hoping for a much better experience the second time around, but it just wasn't meant to be with this place. We won't be back because there are much better Thai options around town that offer more fresh and...
Read moreThe Only restaurant in St. George not following CDC and Utah state rules regarding COVID guidelines, which we have gone to. And note we eat out 6 to 7 times a week. These rules are to protect both individuals and ECONOMY Owner personally is breaking every rule. Servers have masks, owner does not. Sitting patrons next to each other, 6 ft. not observed, had to request to be socially distanced (moment we should have left) allowing those to walk in and sit where they wanted observed menus (not disposable) not being wiped down or disinfected observed tables not being wiped down with disinfected owner speaking to patrons within 2 feet without mask owner told by server (when he allowed patrons to seat themselves to table next to us) came to us (again 4x's now) said people next to us, that they seated themselves (a lie-he allowed it) when they asked coming through the door-clearly observed by me facing the check out counter. Owner told me and my husband he was following health guidelines, while standing next me that he was following guidelines. I stated he was not, without a mask within two feet of me. He said he had "ASTHMA" and "WAS NOT REQUIRED to WEAR a MASK" by health department. Went on line and that was another LIE. Sighted: "No excused-Why masks are critical for Allergy and Asthma Patients" Another couple having dinner decided it was their RIGHT to pipe in on MY CONCERN with OWNER, telling me "I should STAY HOME." I said I want to help the "ECONOMY Recover" HE and his wife both said "your mask is slipping off your nose you better fix it" Obvious my concerns falling on ignorance or plain stupidity-on all counts I left saying "Shame on You- and your IGNORANCE" Owner: Dark haired, tall young man, this is my question-Do you want your business to survive, do you care about your customers or employees or ARE YOUR OPINIONS + POLITICS take precedence over...

Thai food in St. George, Utah, you should definitely check out Banana Blossom Thai Cuisine. This restaurant offers a variety of dishes that are flavorful, fresh, and satisfying. The staff is friendly and attentive, and the ambiance is cozy and inviting.
One of the highlights of my visit was the special curry, which was a rich and creamy coconut-based curry with chicken, potatoes, carrots, onions, and peanuts. The curry had a perfect balance of sweetness, spiciness, and tanginess. It was served with jasmine rice and a crispy roti bread that was great for dipping.
Another dish that I enjoyed was the pineapple curry, which was a fruity and fragrant curry with shrimp, pineapple chunks, bell peppers, basil, and kaffir lime leaves. The pineapple added a nice touch of acidity and freshness to the dish. The shrimp were tender and juicy, and the curry sauce was smooth and aromatic.
The mango curry was also delicious, especially for dessert lovers. It was a sweet and creamy curry with chicken, mango slices, cashew nuts, and raisins. The mango gave the dish a tropical flavor and a bright yellow color. The cashew nuts and raisins added some crunch and texture to the dish. The chicken was moist and tender, and the curry sauce was thick and sweet.
