It SHOCKED me to see all the 5-star reviews of this place! Honestly....shocked. Yes, the decor and inside of this place is top notch for a little foodie place, however, if you don't have the product to back it up?? I order the Smoked Pastor and the Chips and Guac (house made). The chips here are LITERALLY see-through. Therefore, if you try to use them to scoop salsa and especially guac, you're in for a rude awakening. You're going to end up with lots of "flakes" broken into your dish! Beside being ultra thin, the tortilla chips had no flavor. No salt. No lime. NADA! I ate a couple without spooning salsa or guac on top, and after chewing it turned into paste! Their guacamole: You are given a decent amount for the price, BUT, my guac was turning brown on the skin...which they tried to cover up with a teaspoon of pico thrown on top! It had a HINT of lime in it and a bit of salt. Of the guacamoles I've eaten in life, this one is in the bottom 5. The Taco: it was supposed to be shredded pork with secret house creamy sauce, etc. But what it was instead? Waaay overcooked pork that had been mixed into refried beans and cheese, then sort of scooped out of a bowl (like you would tuna salad!) and put on 2 corn tortillas, flattened a bit with more cheese on top. When I say this "taco" was room temperature, keep in mind, the dining area was chilly! Taco meat was mushy, bland, and at $5 surprisingly overpriced! This is not the place to take...
Read moreWow, this is no ordinary salad! I like salad but they can become so boring and common. You won’t find that issue at the smokes taco! If you love flavors and textures this could be the salad for you! I can’t tell you exactly what they had on it but there were lots of crunchy things that added so much to the salad. The menu says candied jalapeños. I didn’t taste hot or spicy but apparently they gave a lovely little pop of sweet. I chose the smoked pork which was wonderful!
Walking through the restaurant I sneaked glances at the food on people’s plates. I saw amazing looking tacos which appeared to be unique and different, nothing ordinary about this food from what I could see.
I don’t live in the area and I was trying to figure out how I could get another salad before I left town the next day. I did learn that there are multiple locations but unfortunately I don’t think there are any in California! This is definitely a place worth going out of...
Read moreI've eaten here only like 3 or 4 times the food isn't my favorite but they do have some good items and it was one of my girls places she liked to eat because she is a foody and likes different things. We went on 11/10/24 and not even 10 minutes after she had eaten, she was throwing up was flushed and couldn't hold anything down. I'm sure this could have been a one off, but we are foodies and if you are serving food there should be no one offs. Period. I would not recommend any person eat at this location as the tacos are okay unless you like artsy stuff, it's rather expensive, especially if you're just gonna get food poisoning and throw up everything you just spent money on. Taco salad is good. That's about it. Go to literally any other Mexican place in st george, there's a lot, that are better priced and give you WAY more food, on top of that there are no regular tacos, its just...
