Back to 5 stars. I have been here several times and every time was fantastic except for one when Big Lud had surgery and his daughter was out of town. That one time left a bit of a bad impression I didn’t want to get from this place. I understand things happen but as someone who has had the outstanding bbq y’all make, that was not pleasant in comparison. However, we were in town again last weekend and went for a visit…made sure Big Lud and his daughter were in town and were the ones that were cooking - hopefully this doesn’t come across as rude but we only come for the bbq you and your daughter make. I took another family member there to try it, we were greeted warmly, given several samples, given great recommendations, and had a fantastic experience. The bbq…absolutely delicious. You guys are back at it. The brisket was tender with a nice bark, pulled pork tender and moist, hot links were a nice surprise. Likely the best Mac n cheese we have ever had. We are big fans of yours so please keep it up. Probably one of the best if not the best place to get bbq in Utah.
One ask…if you or your daughter are not able to cook, please consider closing shop for a weekend instead of giving a less than top notch impression of your bbq to new customers or perhaps more important, leaving a somewhat negative impression on existing customers that go out of their way to visit you for the delicious food y’all make. Keep up...
Read moreDo not miss out on their smoked chicken, it is the best I’ve ever had! Ammon made it a point to answer any and all questions that I had about their menu. Prices are fair, and comparable to what you’d see in Vegas. That being said, quality and service of the food was better.
I quite enjoyed being outside, though it was a cool and windy day. We showed up around 1:30, and by then, they were already sold out of their ribs and pulled pork. That was our mistake, we forgot about the time difference!
Sides were excellent, and their house bbq sauce was a nice mix of smoky, tart, but thin ketchup based. The smoked mac and cheese was flavorful, and not greasy, and their cheesy potatoes were nice, if you’re a fan of scalloped style potatoes. I personally am, so I was pleased about it
The sauce complemented everything, and I was incredibly impressed with the bark on both their flat and point ends of the brisket. A lot of the families eating near us seemed to love the loaded nachos, which fed three adults that were sharing it.
I’d definitely come back (earlier), just to take a few combo...
Read moreYikes- What has happened with Luds/BBQ ? Been coming here since opening when we are able to get to St. George and its been awesome- Great melt in your mouth brisket, yummy sides, side and great prices- What I received yesterday as a two meat plate was just a complete let down across the board.
When I was handed the stryo box it felt very very light, I open it to see why and wow very meager portion sizes, sides almost invisible and I am looking at some kind of overly fatty rib sections that were underdone without any real sear. Also my hot link was not in the tray so I got that sorted before I left. Advertised as a hot link but this was just cold summer sausage slices to me- No heat. Brisket was so overcooked- The normally great cheesy potatoes looked like small cut hash browns or macaroni- Just odd- Beans were watery and there weren't many of them- I hope this is not the new normal, if so I will avoid this joint moving...
